## Description

Infosistema Domain Migration helps you move a WordPress site to a new domain. It
finds every reference to the old domain in your database and replaces it with the
new one, including references inside serialized data and JSON.

Before you change anything, you can create a full SQL backup of your database. You
can then preview exactly what will change before applying it.

**Features**

 * Full database backup (SQL dump) with one click
 * Download, restore or delete backups from the admin panel
 * Emergency terminal restore commands for when the admin panel is unreachable
 * Preview every change before it is applied
 * Safe replacement inside serialized PHP data and JSON
 * Protocol options: keep existing, force HTTPS, or force HTTP
 * Confirmation step before any database changes are written

## Installation

 1. Upload the `infosistema-domain-migration` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/`
directory, or install the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
 2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
 3. Go to **Tools Infosistema Domain Migration**.
 4. On the **Backup & Restore** tab, create a backup.
 5. On the **Replace Domain** tab, enter the old and new domain, preview the changes,
    then apply them.

## FAQ

### Should I create a backup first?

Yes. Always create a fresh backup before replacing domains. The only way to undo
a replacement is to restore a backup.

### Where are backups stored?

Backups are stored in `wp-content/uploads/isdm-backups/`. Each file name includes
a random string, and the plugin adds an `.htaccess` file that blocks direct web
access on Apache servers. On Nginx, add a rule to deny access to this directory.

### Does it handle serialized data?

Yes. Serialized values are updated with the correct string lengths, so widgets,
theme options and plugin settings keep working.

### What should I enter as the domain?

Enter the domain name only, without `http://`, `https://` or a trailing slash. For
example: `example.com`.

### My site is broken and I can’t reach the admin panel. How do I restore?

The Backup & Restore tab shows ready-to-copy terminal commands for restoring a backup
over SSH using your database credentials from `wp-config.php`.
