Upload the `hexr-smart-seo` folder to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install directly through the WordPress Plugins screen. 2. Activate the plugin through the **Plugins** screen in WordPress. 3. Navigate to **HEXR Smart SEO -> Settings** to configure your preferred AI mode ( AI Router Cloud Gateway or your personal API key). 4. Run 1-Click optimization on any post, page, or product from the dashboard or directly inside the block editor. ## FAQ ### Do I need a paid API key to use this plugin? No! In AI Router Cloud Gateway mode, you receive daily free optimizations for Posts, Pages, and WooCommerce Products without entering any API key. Alternatively, you can use your own free API keys from OpenRouter, Google Gemini, or Groq. ### Does this plugin work with Rank Math or Yoast SEO? Yes! HEXR Smart SEO automatically detects and syncs with Rank Math, Yoast SEO, and All in One SEO metadata. If no third-party SEO plugin is installed, it outputs native schema and meta tags directly into your site header. ### Can visitors or third parties view my upstream AI credentials? No. In AI Router Gateway mode, upstream credentials and routing endpoints remain securely stored on your private gateway server. The WordPress plugin never holds or exposes your upstream keys. ### How do Custom AI Providers work? If you prefer to bypass the AI Router Cloud Gateway, you can switch to “Custom AI Provider” mode under HEXR Smart SEO -> Settings. You can input your own personal API key from OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, or connect a local LLM (like Ollama at http://localhost:11434/v1).
