The free plugin is fully functional without an account, license key, telemetry, or connection to HexCoda. Audio remains in your own WordPress Media Library. MP3 normally provides the broadest browser compatibility. A fresh installation creates no sample players and imports no audio. ## FAQ ### What is an A/B audio player? An A/B audio player compares two versions of the same recording. HexCoda keeps both sources at the same playback position so listeners can switch without restarting. ### Do the two files need to be aligned? Yes. Export both files from the same start point and preferably the same end point. The player synchronizes playback positions but cannot correct files that begin at different moments. ### Does switching restart playback? No. Switching keeps the current playback position. ### Which audio formats are supported? Lite supports MP3 and browser-compatible WAV files selected from the WordPress Media Library. ### Can I rename Before and After? Yes. You can use labels such as Mix / Master, Raw / Edited, Original / Restored, or Dry / Processed. ### Does Lite work with Gutenberg? Yes. Lite includes a dynamic Gutenberg block that selects a published player. ### Can I use a shortcode? Yes.
