Review the results, edit anything that needs a human pass, then write them to the SEO plugin that is active. Unlike single-purpose automatic alt-text tools, Hami SEO covers the full metadata set (title, description, focus keyword, synonyms, and alt text) in one bulk workflow with human review before anything is saved. It detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and SEOPress. When more than one is active, you choose which ones receive the metadata. WooCommerce products are included when WooCommerce is active, including product galleries, attributes, price, and SKU as source context. Posts, pages, public custom post types, and public taxonomies can be included too. #### What you can run * SEO metadata for posts, pages, products, and other public content. * SEO metadata for categories, tags, product categories, and other public taxonomies. * Image alt text for featured images, attached images, WooCommerce galleries, and unattached media. * Template-based alt text, with no API cost, or AI alt text. * Fill empty fields, or overwrite existing fields, chosen on each run. * A review queue with edit, retry, apply, and delete. * A connection test for any OpenAI-compatible chat endpoint. * A short log of job summaries and errors. #### What it does not do * It does not invent an SEO score. Yoast, Rank Math, and SEOPress calculate their own scores when the content is saved. * It does not change canonical URLs, robots directives, or sitemaps. * It does not send content anywhere until an administrator starts a generation and has saved an API key. Template-based alt text never leaves the site. The admin screens are English. After the plugin is approved on WordPress.org, translations are added through [translate.wordpress.org](https://translate.wordpress.org/). The language of the generated SEO text follows the site language, or a language you type in the settings. ### External services Hami SEO can connect to an AI endpoint that you configure under Hami SEO Settings. What is sent: the title, excerpt, a trimmed copy of the content, categories, tags, and, for WooCommerce products, SKU, price, currency, and attributes. Image generation also sends the attachment title, filename, and parent title. The request includes your API key in the authorization method you choose so the provider can authenticate it. When: only after an administrator saves an API key and starts an AI generation or clicks Test connection. Rule-based alt text is built on the server and is not sent. To whom: only the host in the API base URL you save, plus the request path you save( the default path is `chat/completions`). The API key is sent in the authorization header you choose. Hami SEO does not operate that service and does not receive a copy of the request. The site address is not added to the request. The provider’s terms and privacy policy apply to that request. If you use a different provider, use that provider’s policy. ## Installation 1. Upload the `hami-seo` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the zip from the Plugins screen. 2. Activate Hami SEO. 3. Open Hami SEO Settings and save an OpenAI-compatible base URL, API key, and model. You can skip this if you only want template-based alt text. 4. Activate Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or SEOPress before applying SEO metadata. 5. Open Generate SEO or Image alt text, choose what to include, and start a run. 6. Review the queue, then apply the rows you want to keep. ## FAQ ### Which SEO plugins are supported? Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and SEOPress. Hami SEO writes the focus keyword, SEO title, and meta description. Yoast also receives synonyms in its synonyms field. Rank Math and SEOPress receive the focus keyword and synonyms in their keyword field. ### Does it require WooCommerce? No. Products, product categories, and product galleries are included when WooCommerce is active. ### Will it overwrite work I already did? Only if you check overwrite on that run. Otherwise it queues items whose SEO title, meta description, or focus keyword is still empty, and images whose alt text is empty. ### Why is there no SEO score? A made-up score would not match the analysis inside Yoast, Rank Math, or SEOPress. Saving the post lets that plugin calculate its own score. You can turn the extra save off in Settings. ### Where do translations come from? The plugin ships in English and uses the `hami-seo` text domain. WordPress.org language packs supply translations after the plugin is approved. See the [Polyglots handbook](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/). Please do not bundle translation files into the plugin. ### Which API settings do I need? The base URL and API key are required before any AI request. Also set the model name your provider expects. The request path, temperature, timeout, max tokens, and authorization style are settings too. Nothing is sent until those fields are saved and you start a run or test the connection. ### Can I use a provider other than OpenAI? Yes. Use any service that accepts an OpenAI-style chat request. Enter its base URL, API key, and model. If it does not use `Authorization: Bearer`, choose a custom header and type the header name, such as `api-key`. ### What happens to the queue if I uninstall?
