That covers wording like “eco-friendly”, “environmentally friendly”, “green”, “climate neutral”, “carbon neutral”, offset-based neutrality claims, and self-made eco labels without independent certification. Fines can reach 4% of turnover, enforced by national consumer authorities — in Poland, UOKiK has already fined product-page greenwashing. This plugin scans your store content and flags risky wording so you can review, substantiate, or rephrase it before regulators or competitors do. **What it scans** * WooCommerce product titles, short descriptions, and full descriptions (when WooCommerce is active) * Blog posts and pages (optional, works with or without WooCommerce) * English, Polish, and German claim lexicons — choose which to scan **How it flags claims** * **Banned** — generic environmental claims banned outright unless substantiated(“ eco-friendly”, “green”, “climate neutral”, “sustainable”, “ekologiczny”, “klimaneutral”…) * **Offset-based** — claims that rely on carbon offsetting to assert neutrality, explicitly banned regardless of substantiation (“carbon offset”, “CO2 compensated”,“ klimakompensiert”…) * **Future claim** — aspirational future commitments that need a verifiable, time- bound implementation plan (“climate neutral by 2040”, “net zero by…”) **Built for real stores** * Batched, resumable scanning: large catalogs are scanned 50 items at a time per request, with a “Continue scan” button so nothing times out * Ignore list for terms you have already substantiated or certified * Results table with the matched term, severity badge, a plain-language “why” note, and an excerpt of the surrounding text, with a direct edit link back to the product or post * Extend or trim the lexicon yourself with the `gccw_lexicon` filter **Our promises** * No ads in your dashboard. No. A match is a flag for review, not a legal conclusion. Many claims are perfectly fine when properly substantiated (for example, backed by a recognized certification or a documented, verifiable environmental performance claim). The plugin cannot see your evidence — only your wording. Always confirm with qualified legal counsel; this plugin is a tool, not legal advice. ### Does it work without WooCommerce? Yes. If WooCommerce is not active, the plugin scans your posts and pages instead. If WooCommerce is active, you can additionally enable scanning posts and pages in Settings. ### Will this slow down my site? No. Scanning only happens when you click “Run scan” or “Continue scan” in the admin area, in bounded batches. It never runs on the front end and adds no page-load overhead for visitors. ### Can I add or remove terms from the lexicon? Yes, two ways: add terms you want ignored to the Ignore list in Settings, or use the `gccw_lexicon` PHP filter to add, remove, or edit any entry (term, language, severity, or the “why” explanation). ### Does the plugin phone home? No. It makes no external requests, sets no cookies, and collects no data.
