The first hero is Fireball: glowing coloured fire that follows your visitor’s mouse, rolls across the screen and bounces off the edges. Use it on any page of your site. * Pick your front page or any other page from a dropdown, and your hero shows at the top of it. No shortcode needed * Add your logo * Add as many text slides as you like. They show in turn, each with a small line, a headline and a line under it * Add a button with your own label and link * Choose your background, text and button colours * Built to show on any theme. Check The Page tells you if your theme is hiding it * A backup picture is made for you when you save. It shows on devices that cannot run the moving hero, and for visitors who ask for less motion * The level of detail is picked for each visitor’s device, so it stays smooth on slow computers and looks its best on fast ones * The hero only loads on pages that use it, and it pauses when it is off screen * Your page titles and SEO settings are left alone The Fireball hero: * Rainbow fire that flows through every colour as it moves * Choose the fireball size and how lively it is * It follows the mouse, or starts on click and drag * A fireball crosses the hero when nobody is touching it, so phones see it too * It comes back in off the edges of the hero, plainly or with a spring **Front Door Hero Pro** is a separate add on sold on candat.com; it is not part of this plugin and nothing here waits for it. Upload the plugin and activate it. 2. Open Front Door Hero in the admin menu. 3. Add your logo and your words, and choose your colours. 4. Under Show My Hero On, pick your front page or another page, and save. 5. To use it on other pages, add the shortcode [front_door_hero], the Front Door Hero block, or the Front Door Hero button in the classic editor. ## FAQ ### Can I use it on pages other than the home page? Yes. It works on any page or post. ### Does it work on phones? Yes. Visitors can touch the hero, and it plays by itself when nobody is touching it. ### What happens on older devices? The hero shows a still picture in place of the moving one. By default the plugin makes that picture for you each time you save. You can also upload your own, or choose a soft glow. ### My hero is not showing. What do I do? Open the Front Door Hero settings and press Check The Page. It tells you if the hero is showing, hidden by your theme, or not in the page. Choosing the other option under Where It Goes fixes most cases. ### Can my site menu sit on top of the hero? Yes, if your theme has a see through or overlay menu option. Choose Very Top Of The Page under Where It Goes, then turn that option on in your theme. Theme makers: the plugin adds the class has-front-door-hero to the body on any page with a hero. When the hero is placed by the Show My Hero On setting, it also adds fdh-position-top or fdh-position-content. ### Where is the backup picture kept? In your uploads folder, in a folder named front-door-hero.
