## Description

Fosia Crowdfunding Lite is a free crowdfunding and donation plugin for WordPress
and WooCommerce, made for Mobile Money. It turns your site into a fundraising page
for the causes communities actually raise money for: a church roof, school fees,
medical bills, a funeral, a wedding, a tontine, a small business, an emergency.
Churches, schools, associations, charities and families use it to collect donations
from people who pay with **MTN MoMo** (MTN Mobile Money), **M-Pesa**, **Airtel Money**,**
Orange Money**, Wave or Moov Money, as well as by card through any WooCommerce gateway.

Every campaign gets a page with a goal, an end date, a live progress bar, quick
amounts and a donation form designed for phones. Donors pay through the normal WooCommerce
checkout, with any payment method enabled in your shop: for Mobile Money (MTN MoMo,
Airtel Money, Orange Money, M-Pesa…), the free Fosia Pay Lite gateway connects your
own PawaPay account. Totals and donor counts update when the payment is confirmed,
and go back down on refunds.

Requires WooCommerce. Donations are ordinary WooCommerce orders: the money goes
straight from the donor to your own payment account.

#### Mobile Money donations in 21 African countries

With the free [Fosia Pay Lite](https://wordpress.org/plugins/fosia-pay-lite/) gateway
and your own PawaPay merchant account, donors can give by Mobile Money in Benin,
Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana,
Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania,
Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, with the operators enabled on your account. The donor
approves the payment on their phone, and the campaign total updates when the payment
is confirmed.

#### Free and complete

Fosia Crowdfunding Lite works fully on its own: nothing is locked, limited or time-
limited. Fosia Crowdfunding Pro is a separate plugin by the same team.

### External services

The plugin does not call any outside service in the background. Two optional features
open a third-party service only after the visitor’s own action, and one optional
form sends an answer to Fosia only after the administrator’s own action:

 * **YouTube / Vimeo** — if the organiser adds a video link to a campaign, the page
shows a “Watch the video” button. Nothing is requested from the video host until
the visitor presses it; the player is then loaded from youtube-nocookie.com or
player.vimeo.com, which receive the visitor’s IP address and browser details
like any embedded video. YouTube: [Terms](https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), [Privacy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
   Vimeo: [Terms](https://vimeo.com/terms), [Privacy](https://vimeo.com/privacy).
 * **YouTube (setup video)** — the Welcome step of the guided setup shows a picture
of the how-to video, stored in the plugin. Nothing is requested from YouTube
until the administrator clicks it; the video then plays from youtube-nocookie.
com (Google), which receives the IP address and browser details like any embedded
video. YouTube [Terms of Service](https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and Google
   [Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
 * **WhatsApp** — the “WhatsApp” share button is a link to wa.me with the campaign
title and address. It is opened only when the visitor taps it. [Terms](https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/terms-of-service),
   [Privacy](https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy).
 * **Fosia (pay.fosiarw.com), “Quick feedback” when you deactivate** — clicking “
Deactivate” on Fosia Crowdfunding Lite in Plugins opens a short window asking
why. Nothing is sent on “Skip & Deactivate”, the × or Escape. Only if you pick
a reason and click “Submit & Deactivate”, your site (not your browser) sends
once to `https://pay.fosiarw.com/wp-json/fosia/v1/feedback`: the reason, the
text you typed (optional, 500 characters at most), the product and edition, the
plugin, WordPress and PHP versions and the site language. Your site address and
e-mail address are sent only if you tick “You may email me about this” (unticked
by default). No donor, order or payment data is ever sent. Fosia keeps the answers
12 months; no IP address is stored. Fosia [Terms of Service](https://pay.fosiarw.com/terms-of-service/)
   and [Privacy Policy](https://pay.fosiarw.com/privacy-policy/).

The guided setup that opens after activation loads nothing from outside your site.

Payments are handled by the WooCommerce payment method you choose (for example Fosia
Pay Lite, which documents its own use of PawaPay), not by this plugin.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate WooCommerce, and a payment method (for Mobile Money: Fosia
Pay Lite, connected to your own PawaPay merchant account).
 2. Install Fosia Crowdfunding Lite from Plugins > Add New and activate it.
 3. Go to Campaigns > Add New Campaign: title, story, goal, end date, suggested amounts,
    cover image.
 4. Publish. The campaign has its own page (/campaign/your-campaign/), or put `[fosia_campaign
    id="…" layout="full"]` on any page.

## FAQ

### How do I accept donations by Mobile Money on WordPress?

Install WooCommerce, the free Fosia Pay Lite gateway (connected to your own PawaPay
merchant account) and Fosia Crowdfunding Lite. Create a campaign with a goal and
suggested amounts, then share its page on WhatsApp or as a QR code. Donors choose
an amount, approve the MTN MoMo, M-Pesa, Airtel Money or Orange Money payment on
their phone, and the total updates once the payment is confirmed.

### Can a church, school, association or charity use it?

Yes. Each campaign has its own page with a goal, a progress bar, budget lines (“
what your money pays for”) and updates, so donors see where their gift goes. Donor
names stay private unless the donor chooses to show their first name.

### Is it free? Is there a limit on campaigns or donations?

Yes, it is free, and there is no limit on the number of campaigns, donations or
donors. Nothing is locked, and no feature stops working after a while.

### Do I need Fosia Pay?

No. You need WooCommerce and at least one payment method enabled in it. Donations
are WooCommerce orders, so any WooCommerce gateway can take them. For Mobile Money,
the free Fosia Pay Lite gateway connects your own PawaPay merchant account; when
it is enabled, the donation form shows the Mobile Money steps and operators, otherwise
it stays neutral (“Continue to payment”). Campaigns > Configuration shows which
payment methods are enabled.

### Does Fosia take a commission?

No. This plugin takes no commission and adds no fee. Your payment provider charges
its own usual fees, as for any other order.

### Where does the money go?

Straight to the payment account connected to your WooCommerce gateway (for example
your own PawaPay merchant account with Fosia Pay Lite). The plugin never receives,
holds or forwards money, and Fosia never touches it.

### Where are donors’ names shown?

Only donors who tick “Show my first name on the page” are listed by first name and
initial; everyone else appears as “Anonymous”. Phone numbers and e-mail addresses
are never shown publicly. Only shop managers see full donor details in the Donations
Log.

### Does the plugin send data anywhere?

Not on its own. QR codes are drawn in the visitor’s browser. A campaign video (YouTube
or Vimeo) loads only when the visitor presses play, and WhatsApp opens only when
the visitor taps the share button. When you deactivate the plugin, the optional “
Quick feedback” window sends your answer to Fosia only if you click “Submit & Deactivate”(
your site address and e-mail only if you tick the box). See “External services”
below.

### I use the older all-in-one Fosia Crowdfunding 2.x

Either order works. Update the older plugin as usual: it keeps your campaigns running
and offers to install Lite in one click. If you install Lite first, it waits while
2.x is active and takes over after the update. Same campaigns, same totals, same
donations: nothing to migrate.

### Is it translated?

The plugin is fully translatable (text domain `fosia-crowdfunding-lite`). French
is included and used automatically on French sites until a language pack is published.

## Changelog

#### 1.2.0

 * Fixed: totals stay true. A donation whose order is later cancelled, failed, put
back on hold, trashed or deleted leaves the campaign total, the donor count and
the public donor list (it is counted again if the order comes back to Processing
or Completed, refunds kept). “Cash on delivery” donations count once you mark
the order Completed, and the donor is told the organiser will confirm the payment.
 * Fixed: no dead end for donors. While no payment method is on in WooCommerce,
campaigns show “Donations open soon” (administrators see why) instead of a form
that leads to a checkout with no way to pay.
 * Improved: a donation-shaped checkout. When the cart holds donations only, WooCommerce
no longer asks for a street address, city or postcode (some countries required
a postcode); the campaign name shows under “Donation”; the donor’s name is filled
in. The hidden “Donation” product can no longer be bought on its own by its address.
 * Improved: the confirmation page opens with the donation box and a matching first
line; donor e-mails say “Thank you for your donation to …” with the campaign
link (or “registered” while the payment is not confirmed). No second box when
Fosia Pay already shows the payment state.
 * Improved: campaign editor. “Campaign details” opens with the block editor (it
was folded at the bottom), a “Before you publish” line shows the story, photo,
goal and payment method live, and a budget line or update typed but not added
with its button is kept when you save.
 * Improved: block themes get a campaign page template (title, photo, donation panel
next to the story); the theme’s “Written by … in” line and “More posts” no longer
appear under campaigns. A theme with its own campaign template keeps it.
 * Improved: the phone field says “Phone number” (not “Mobile Money number”) when
no Mobile Money gateway is on. Donations Log: the campaign filter filters the
list, a summary line gives the total, export the shown list. Configuration warns
when the display currency differs from the store currency.
 * Improved: guided setup. The step bar marks Payments and First campaign “to do”
when they are not done; the Done list has a link on each line still to do; the
first campaign asks the organiser name (the site name by default, instead of
the user name); the currency is shown, not asked. “Find it in Plugins > Add New”
for a Mobile Money gateway, and “check again” after turning one on.
 * Added: French is shipped with the plugin and used until a translate.wordpress.
   org language pack exists.
 * Uninstall also removes the guided setup state.
 * Guided setup (shared design kit): the last screen’s list keeps each line next
   to its mark on phones.
 * readme: short description, tags and FAQ written for the searches people make (
crowdfunding, donation, fundraising, Mobile Money donations, MTN MoMo, M-Pesa),
the list of countries where Mobile Money donations work, and no add-on feature
list (the separate Pro plugin is named once).
 * Added: the guided setup’s Welcome step shows the how-to video (English or French,
by site language), loaded from YouTube only when you press play.
 * Added: a guided setup that opens once, right after you activate the plugin (never
on bulk activation): Welcome, Look (display currency and colour), Payments (which
payment methods are on in WooCommerce), First campaign (a draft with its name
and goal), Done (what is set up, next step, help links). “Exit guided setup”
on every step saves what you entered; “Resume setup” stays on the Campaigns screen
until it is finished. Phone-friendly and keyboard-friendly.
 * Added: a short “Quick feedback” window when you deactivate the plugin, with a
link to support. Optional: nothing is sent on “Skip & Deactivate”; see “External
services” for what “Submit & Deactivate” sends. No “too expensive” reason for
   this free plugin.
 * Guided setup: pressing Enter in a field continues the step (it used to leave
the setup), and the last screen says “Almost ready” while steps are left.
 * Security hardening (WordPress.org review, also in the 1.1.0 sent to WordPress.
org): the campaign story is escaped with wp_kses() (post HTML and embeds), the
donation request checks a nonce for every visitor (a cached page gets a fresh
one automatically), the “no payment method” notice has “Don’t show again”, the
WooCommerce and older-version notices only appear on the Plugins screen, and
the Configuration page names Pro in one plain line.

#### 1.1.0

 * Escaping: every block of HTML printed by the plugin goes through wp_kses() with
the list of tags the plugin uses (no more unescaped output).
 * The donation form names Fosia Pay, Mobile Money operators and the “approve on
your phone” step only when a Fosia Pay gateway is enabled; with any other payment
method it says “Continue to payment” and “Secure checkout”. Same for the thank-
   you box.
 * Campaigns > Configuration shows the payment methods enabled in WooCommerce; a
notice on the Campaigns screens warns when none is enabled.
 * readme: FAQ (free and unlimited, commission, where the money goes), External
   services section, new screenshots.

#### 1.0.0

 * First release as a free base plugin: the campaign, donation and totals core of
Fosia Crowdfunding, with unlimited campaigns. Same data as Fosia Crowdfunding
2.x (post type `fosia_campaign`, `_fosia_*` meta), so existing sites switch without
   migration.
