Once you paste the widget key from your Flatzer dashboard, the plugin loads the Flatzer chat widget on every front-end page of your site so visitors can talk to your AI sales assistant. The widget runs inside a Shadow DOM, is loaded with `defer`, and is designed to never break your site’s layout or scripts. If no widget key is configured, the plugin loads nothing at all. #### Third-party service This plugin is a connector for the external Flatzer service and does not work without a Flatzer account: * On every front-end page load, the plugin loads the widget script `widget.js` from `flatzer.com`. * The widget then connects to the Flatzer service to power the chat: visitor messages typed into the chat window, plus standard technical data involved in serving the widget (such as IP address, browser user agent, and the page URL the widget is embedded on), are sent to and processed by Flatzer. * No data is sent to Flatzer until the widget script is loaded, and the script is only loaded when you have saved a valid widget key. Upload the `flatzer-chat` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress _Plugins_ screen directly. 2. Activate the plugin through the _Plugins_ screen in WordPress. 3. Go to _Settings Flatzer Chat_. 4. Paste your widget key (it looks like `wgt_` followed by 32 hexadecimal characters) and save. 5. Visit your site — the Flatzer chat bubble appears on every page. ## FAQ ### Where do I get my widget key? Log in to your [Flatzer dashboard](https://flatzer.com/dashboard) and go to _Settings Web widget_. Copy the widget key (format: `wgt_` + 32 hexadecimal characters) and paste it into _Settings Flatzer Chat_ in your WordPress admin. ### What data is sent to Flatzer? When a valid widget key is configured, every front-end page load fetches `widget. js` from `flatzer.com`, and the chat widget communicates with the Flatzer service. This involves visitor chat messages and standard technical data (IP address, user agent, embedding page URL). Nothing is sent if no widget key is configured. No. The plugin adds a single script tag loaded with `defer`, so it does not block page rendering. The widget itself renders inside a Shadow DOM and is isolated from your theme. ### Can I disable the chat without deactivating the plugin? Yes. Clear the widget key field in _Settings Flatzer Chat_ and save.
