## Description

Festivello puts your website in holiday mode without touching your theme.

Pick a holiday, switch it on, and your site gets a temporary seasonal look: a colour
overlay across the header, body, footer and font, floating icons drifting over the
page, an animated background, and an optional banner message above the header. Switch
it off and everything returns to your theme’s own styling instantly. Your theme
files are never modified.

Nine holidays are included and ready to use:

 * Christmas
 * Halloween
 * Valentine’s Day
 * New Year
 * Easter
 * Thanksgiving
 * Canada Day
 * Fourth of July
 * Black Friday

Every one of them is fully editable. Change the dates, the colours, the icons, the
animation and the banner text on any holiday, as often as you like. There is no
limit on how many holidays you use across the year, no trial period, and no expiry.

#### Features

 * Nine preset holidays, all editable
 * Temporary colour overlay for header, body, footer and font
 * Up to five floating icons per holiday, from an emoji library or raster images
   selected from your Media Library
 * Five background animations: falling snow, floating hearts, falling leaves, confetti,
   and a fireworks glow
 * Low, medium and high animation intensity
 * Optional banner message pinned above your header
 * Optional automatic scheduling by date range, including ranges that wrap past
   December 31
 * One holiday runs at a time, so seasons never collide
 * Respects prefers-reduced-motion: animations are skipped for visitors who ask
   for reduced motion

#### Built to stay fast

Holiday CSS and JavaScript load only while a holiday is actually active. Nothing
is enqueued on your site the rest of the year.

#### Privacy

Festivello does not collect any data, does not phone home, and does not contact
any external server. Everything it does happens on your own site.

#### Festivello Pro

Everything described above is part of this free plugin, with no limits, no quotas
and no expiry, and it stays that way.

Festivello Pro is a separate add-on, available from https://licensehub.bragdeal.
cloud/wp-festivello/, for people who want holidays of their own rather than the
nine built in here. It adds:

 * Unlimited custom holidays of your own
 * Your own name, start date and end date for each one
 * Your own header, body, footer and font colours per holiday
 * Your own Media Library images, or emoji from the library
 * Any of the five background animations, at any intensity
 * Add-on updates and new Pro features delivered through your dashboard
 * Direct email support from the people who build the plugin
 * And many more

It is useful for anniversaries, product launches, sales and seasonal campaigns that
are specific to your business. Pro is an add-on: this plugin stays installed and
active, and everything you have already set up keeps working exactly as it does
now.

## Installation

 1. Upload the plugin through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, or install it from
    the WordPress plugin directory.
 2. Activate it.
 3. Open **Festivello** in the admin menu.
 4. Toggle a holiday on, or click its name to edit its colours, icons, animation and
    banner.

## FAQ

### Does this change my theme?

No. The holiday look is a temporary overlay rendered on top of your theme. Your
theme files are never edited, and disabling holiday mode restores your original
styling immediately.

### Can more than one holiday run at once?

No, and that is deliberate. One holiday mode runs at a time so seasonal styles never
overlap: switching a second holiday on turns the first one off.

### Do holidays turn on by themselves?

Only if you ask them to. Automatic scheduling is off by default, so nothing appears
on your site until you switch a holiday on with the toggle in the list. If you tick“
Turn this holiday on by itself during the dates above” while editing a holiday,
it will then start and stop with its own date range. Editing a holiday never puts
it live on its own.

### Can I use my own icons?

Yes. Each icon slot accepts an emoji from the built-in library or a JPG, PNG, GIF,
WebP or AVIF image from your Media Library.

### Will the animations bother visitors who are sensitive to motion?

No. Visitors whose system requests reduced motion will not see the animations. The
banner and colours still apply.

### Where do I get help?

Questions about this plugin are welcome on its WordPress.org support forum, where
answers help everyone who reads them. Festivello Pro customers also get direct email
support from us.

### Does it slow my site down?

The holiday stylesheet and script are only loaded while a holiday is active. Outside
of that, the plugin adds nothing to your front end.

## Changelog

#### 1.1.7

 * Festivello Pro is now described by what it adds, rather than by anything this
   plugin will not do.

#### 1.1.6

 * Switching a second holiday on now says that the first one was switched off.
 * A dismissible prompt asks for a WordPress.org review after a day of use. It appears
   on Festivello’s own screen only, and every button settles it for good or for
   a week.
 * The admin menu icon is now a Christmas hat.

#### 1.1.5

 * Added the Festivello logo: the plugin now has its own artwork in the WordPress.
   org plugin directory, its own admin menu icon in place of the generic one, and
   the mark in its settings header.

#### 1.1.4

 * Legacy settings migrated from pre-1.1.2 development builds are now validated
   with the same routine the settings form uses, so colours, dates and banner text
   are sanitized rather than copied verbatim.
 * Documented the nonce that protects the settings form for automated security scanning.
 * Added translator comments to every string containing a placeholder.
 * The admin script now depends on the media modal it actually uses instead of jQuery.
 * Corrected the plugin and product website links.

#### 1.1.3

 * Made checkbox and icon-array request sanitization explicit for WordPress.org
   automated security scanning.
 * No public API changes; fully compatible with the Festivello 1.1.2 API.

#### 1.1.2

 * Replaced the short WPF public prefix with the unique Festivello prefix across
   PHP APIs, hooks, options, scripts and styles.
 * Tightened admin request handling so only expected form fields are read and sanitized.
 * Media icons now store validated Media Library attachment references instead of
   arbitrary image URLs.
 * Raster image validation rejects remote URLs and SVG payloads.
 * Filtered banner output now passes through a strict wp_kses() allowlist.
 * Updated the Pro extension points to the new Festivello API names.
 * Added a safe one-time migration for settings created by pre-1.1.2 development
   builds.

#### 1.1.1

 * Updated the plugin name and slug for WordPress.org directory compliance.
 * Improved admin request validation and input sanitization.

#### 1.1.0

 * The plugin header now shows which edition is running.
 * Removed the Performance tab: it only restated behaviour that is always on.

#### 1.0.0

 * Initial release.
