## Description

**Plan. Execute. Deliver.**

ESoftWave Project Manager gives agencies, freelancers and teams one shared place
where the work happens — on your own WordPress website, with your own branding.
Clients sign in to follow their projects, approve work, share files, accept quotes
and pay invoices. Your team runs projects, tasks and billing from the same place.

#### What you get (free, no limits on projects, clients or team members)

 * **Projects** — client, team, status, progress, dates, milestones, files, activity,
and the people on each project.
 * **Tasks & Kanban board** — drag and drop, assignees, due dates, dependencies (“
waits for”), checklists (subtasks) with progress, “client action required”, task
   updates for clients.
 * **Approvals & client actions** — mark a task “Client action required”; the client
answers with “Done / Approved” or “Changes needed” and a note, and the team is
   told straight away.
 * **Files** — private storage, only served to people who may see them, with automatic
file safety. Ask the client to approve a file (“Approve” / “Request changes”).
 * **Quotes** — accepted online by the client (typed-name signature with time and
a fingerprint of the quote), turned into an invoice in one click — or “Accept
and pay”: a deposit (or full) invoice is sent automatically and the client pays
   it straight away.
 * **Invoices** — automatic numbering, discounts, tax, adjustments, payment schedules(
milestones), partial payments, several currencies with exchange rates, invoices
without a project, paid record-keeping invoices, PDF invoices and receipts, account
   statements and “Send on WhatsApp”.
 * **Payments** — bank transfer, mobile wallets, cash and payment links with a payment-
proof form; switch each method on or off with one click; amount limits and optional
payment fees per method; account credit (overpayments, prepayments) the client
can use on the next invoice; a test checkout to try online payments; a developer
API to add any payment provider as a small plugin.
 * **Payment dates & project hold** — clients can suggest a date to pay; you accept
or decline it. Put a project on hold (for payment or any reason) with a clear
banner for the client, “Request to resume” and automatic resume when the invoices
are paid. Automatic payment reminders (3 days before, on and 7 days after the
due date) and “Send a reminder now” on any open invoice.
 * **Clients with several people** — a client company can have a manager, accounts
person and others, each with their own login, role and permissions.
 * **Roles & teams** — Owner, Admin, Project Manager, Team Lead, Team Member, Client;
a permission table and per-person exceptions.
 * **Reports** — invoiced, received, open and overdue amounts for any period, kept
per currency, with a CSV export of your invoices for the bookkeeping.
 * **Notifications** — a bell in ESoftWave Project Manager, phone notifications,
and emails with smart delays and summaries.
 * **Phone app** — installs on phones and computers like an app (Progressive Web
   App), with push notifications.
 * **Branded sign-in and emails**, light/dark themes, your colours and logo. Sign-
in links in emails, so clients need no password.
 * **Help center** with step-by-step guides, and one-click demo data to look around.

#### ESoftWave Project Manager Pro

[ESoftWave Project Manager Pro](https://esoftwave.com/plugins/esoftwave-project-manager/)
is a separate add-on for businesses that want live communication and more automation:

 * Live chat: three chats per project (project chat with the client, private client–
admin chat, internal team chat) with live messages, read receipts, replies, reactions,@
mentions, pinned messages, photos and files, comments pinned on images and message
   history.
 * Automatic online payments with Safepay (cards and bank accounts) or with any
payment method installed in WooCommerce (invoices are marked paid automatically).
 * Automatic payment follow-up: your own reminder schedule (any days, repeats, a
maximum), automatic acceptance of near payment dates, final notices and automatic
   project holds.
 * Recurring invoices for retainers, hosting and care plans.
 * Detailed reports: late invoices by age, tax on payments received, revenue per
   client and quote acceptance.
 * Project templates.
 * AI assistant for chat messages (translate, explain, polish replies, summaries)
   with the provider you choose.
 * Contact monitor for phone numbers shared in chat messages.

Everything in the free plugin stays free and complete — Pro adds features, it does
not unlock hidden ones.

### Phone app and notifications

 * ESoftWave Project Manager can be installed on phones and computers like an app(
Progressive Web App): “Install the app” on Android/desktop Chrome, Edge and Samsung
Internet; on iPhone/iPad: Safari Share “Add to Home Screen”. It opens full-
screen from its own icon, straight into ESoftWave Project Manager, and people
stay signed in as long as your login settings allow.
 * Phone notifications (Web Push): each person can switch them on per device. Every
bell notification (tasks, approvals, files, requests, payments, quotes…) then
arrives on the phone and opens exactly the right screen when tapped. The push
only wakes the device; the text is fetched from your own website over the signed-
in connection, so no message content passes through Google’s or Apple’s push
services. iPhone/iPad: iOS 16.4 or newer, after adding ESoftWave Project Manager
   to the Home Screen.
 * Team members get a phone-friendly view in ESoftWave Project Manager: “Your day”(
my open tasks, payment proofs to check), “My tasks” with one-tap status changes,
and one-tap WhatsApp/call/email buttons for each client. Clients get one-tap
   buttons to reach you.
 * Requirements: HTTPS, PHP OpenSSL extension (standard), and a square 512 × 512
PNG app icon (set under “App icon”, or your Site Icon) for a sharp home-screen
icon. No app store, no extra service.

### Notifications & emails

 * Every event (new file, task assigned, client action, payment proof, reminders…)
shows in the ESoftWave Project Manager bell and as a phone notification; only
important ones also send an email.
 * Each event has a priority (High, Normal, Low). Per priority you choose: email
right away, email after a delay, or no email (portal only). Defaults: High after
the delay, Normal and Low no email. Any single event can override this, or be
   hidden from ESoftWave Project Manager.
 * Delayed emails (default 15 minutes) are skipped when the person already saw the
notification in ESoftWave Project Manager, and several waiting emails are combined
into one summary email. Sent by WP-Cron every 5 minutes — add a server cron job
   for wp-cron.php on quiet websites.
 * Reminders: time between reminders and maximum per item; reminders always stop
when the person replies or acts, and can optionally stop once they have opened
   the item.
 * Emails sent on purpose (Send invoice, Send quote, project update to the client,
   password emails) are not affected.

### Currencies

 * Every client can have their own currency (Clients add client, or the client’s
profile). New quotes and invoices for that client start in it; each document
   can still use any currency.
 * All amounts on a document — lines, discounts, tax, milestones, payments and the
balance — are in the document’s currency. Amounts show symbol and code (“$1,500.00
USD”, “CA$1,500.00 CAD”) so dollars are never confused. Add more currencies under
Settings Invoices & quotes Extra currencies.
 * Payments in another currency: record (or confirm) what the client sent and in
which currency, the exchange rate (the “Get rate” button suggests the European
Central Bank reference rate for the payment date via the free, open-source Frankfurter
service; you can always type the bank’s own rate or simply the converted amount),
bank/gateway fees, tax or other charges, and the net amount actually received.
Choose per payment whether the full converted amount counts (“we pay the fees”)
or only what arrived (“the client pays the fees” — the rest stays outstanding).
The default is set in Settings.
 * Each payment stores its own rate and figures; later rate changes never alter
it. Small remaining differences can be written off with one click (shown separately
in Reports, not as money received).
 * Reports show money actually received (after fees) per currency, plus fees/conversion
   differences and write-offs.

### External services

ESoftWave Project Manager works without any outside service. These optional features
connect to one:

 * **Exchange rates** — only when someone clicks “Get rate” while recording a payment
in another currency, ESoftWave Project Manager asks the Frankfurter API (https://
api.frankfurter.dev — official central bank reference rates) for the rate of
that date. Sent: the two currency codes and the date — no personal data. Terms
   of use (licence): https://frankfurter.dev/license/ · Privacy: https://frankfurter.
dev/ (section “What is the privacy policy of the API?”: no personal data, IP
addresses or request URLs are logged). You can change or empty the address under
Settings Invoices & quotes Exchange-rate service.
 * **Phone notifications (Web Push)** — when a person switches on notifications
on a device, their browser registers with its own push service (Google Firebase
Cloud Messaging for Chrome and Edge on Android, Mozilla Push Service for Firefox,
Apple Push Notification service for Safari). ESoftWave Project Manager sends
each notification through that service end-to-end encrypted for that one device(
Web Push encryption), so the push service cannot read it. Sent: the encrypted
notification (and the device’s push address). Google: terms https://firebase.
   google.com/terms , privacy https://policies.google.com/privacy · Mozilla: terms
   https://www.mozilla.org/about/legal/terms/services/ , privacy https://www.mozilla.
   org/privacy/ · Apple: terms https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/terms/
   site.html , privacy https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ . Switch push off under
   Settings Phone app & notifications.
 * **ClamAV virus scanner** — when ClamAV (clamd) runs on your own server, ESoftWave
Project Manager finds it by itself (the usual local socket paths and 127.0.0.1:
3310) and streams each uploaded file to it before it is stored. Nothing leaves
your server unless you enter a different ClamAV address under Settings File
   safety Advanced. ClamAV: https://www.clamav.net/

ESoftWave Project Manager does not track you or your users and sends no data to
the plugin author.

### Requirements

 * WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 8.0 or newer. On older versions the plugin stays
inactive and shows a notice; it never breaks the site.
 * A writable uploads folder. Recommended: the PHP zip and fileinfo extensions (
standard on most hosts) so ZIP and Office files can be looked into.
 * Recommended: an SMTP plugin for reliable email, and a server cron job for wp-
cron.php on quiet websites (reminders and email summaries use WP-Cron).
 * Phone app and notifications need HTTPS and the PHP OpenSSL extension (standard
   on almost every host).

## Installation

 1. Install and activate ESoftWave Project Manager (Plugins Add New search “ESoftWave
    Project Manager”).
 2. A page called “E-Projects” with the `[eswpm]` shortcode is created for you. You
can put the shortcode on any other page instead (E-Projects Settings App page).
 3. E-Projects Settings: fill in your company details, choose your colours and send
yourself a test email (Health check at the bottom).
 4. Follow “Set up ESoftWave Project Manager” on the dashboard: company details, a
test email, payment methods, your first client and project. Each step checks itself
    off.
 5. Optional: E-Projects Tools Add demo data to look around; remove it again with
    one click.

## FAQ

### Does the demo data mix with my real data?

No. Demo data is only created when you click “Add demo data” under Tools. Its client
gets a new account (with a made-up address that receives nothing, or a demo address
you type — never an existing account), its people are made up, its invoices and
quotes are numbered DEMO-… so your own numbering starts at INV-0001, and its payment
methods only appear on demo invoices. “Remove demo data” deletes exactly those items
and people; your own projects, clients, invoices and settings are not touched.

### What does ESoftWave Project Manager set up when I activate it?

Only what it needs on your site: the ESoftWave Project Manager roles, default settings(
your site title and admin email as the company name and email — change them in Settings),
a “ESoftWave Project Manager” page with the shortcode, a protected folder for files
and the keys for phone notifications, made for your site alone. No accounts, no
sample data and nothing from anyone else’s site. Email, payment methods and (with
Pro) card payments and the AI assistant always use your own accounts.

### Do my clients need a WordPress account?

Yes — ESoftWave Project Manager creates it for you. Add a client under E-Projects
Clients and they receive a “set your password” email. Clients only ever see ESoftWave
Project Manager, never the WordPress dashboard.

### Where are files stored?

In wp-content/uploads/eswpm/, protected by a deny-all rule, and only handed out
to people who may see them. On Nginx, add a rule that denies direct access to that
folder.

### Does it work with my theme or page builder?

Yes. ESoftWave Project Manager is a shortcode on a normal page and opens full-screen
like an app by default (Settings Appearance).

### Is my data deleted when I remove the plugin?

No. Deactivating or deleting keeps all projects, tasks, invoices and files, unless
you switch on “Delete all ESoftWave Project Manager data together with the plugin”
under Settings Your data.

### Can I add my own payment provider?

Yes. A payment method is one PHP class in a small separate plugin — see docs/payment-
gateways.md inside the plugin (the built-in “Test payments” method is a complete
example).

### Do I need ESoftWave Project Manager Pro?

No. The free plugin is a complete project management tool and client portal, with
no limits on projects, clients or team members. Pro is for businesses that want
live chat with clients and the team, automatic online payments (Safepay or any WooCommerce
payment method), automation, recurring invoices, reports and the AI assistant.

### Can my clients and team chat in ESoftWave Project Manager?

Live chat is part of ESoftWave Project Manager Pro. In the free plugin, clients
answer tasks and approvals with a note, share files, and reach you through the contact
buttons (WhatsApp, phone and email) in their account menu.

## Changelog

#### 6.1.4

 * Activation: the activity table is created in the standard WordPress way (table
prefix, the site’s character set and collation).
 * The installable app’s tags (manifest, icons, service worker) are only added on
E-Projects screens in the dashboard, not on every admin page.
 * Locations: the example password-reset link in the email preview uses wp_login_url();
the logo for PDFs and the app page find the uploads, themes and plugins folders
through WordPress functions instead of internal constants.

#### 6.1.3

 * Notifications: opening a chat or a project marks its notifications read through
a request the page sends with its security code; an address alone no longer changes
anything. The project edit screen reads the project from WordPress instead of
   the address.
 * Emails: no style block in the email any more — the look of links, paragraphs
and quotes is written on each element, which mail apps keep best.
 * Emails: “View in browser” shows the email with its colours and buttons in every
   case.

#### 6.1.2

 * Invoices and quotes: a new invoice or quote starts as “Awaiting payment” / “Waiting
for answer”, so “Publish” shows it to the client and “Save Draft” keeps it hidden.
Before, an invoice published without changing its status stayed hidden from the
   client.
 * Payment methods: a method in test mode that you tick on an invoice is now offered
there even when “Offer on every invoice” is on.
 * Payment methods: a bank account or wallet without its payment details shows “
Needs setup” and is not offered to clients until the details are added.
 * Invoice screen: “(not for this currency)” next to a payment method follows the
   currency you choose.
 * Clients see where they will pay (“the payment provider’s secure page”, “a test
   checkout page on this website”).
 * After activation a short notice points to the setup checklist.
 * Accessibility: every field has a name for screen readers (filters, invoice and
quote lines, milestones, payment schedules, permissions).
 * Headings “New Project” and “New Task”; shorter invoice and quote number hints;
the Pro card on the dashboard no longer runs under its close button.
 * New: each payment method has an On/Off switch on its card, saved at once.
 * New: logos in Settings (invoices, dark backgrounds, emails) can be chosen from
the Media Library, with a preview.
 * Demo data: “Remove demo data” now also removes its line in the activity log,
so nothing of the demo is left.
 * Settings: the email health check shows only on its own “Health check” tab.
 * A new project shows “Publish the project first” in its Tasks box instead of buttons
that would leave the unsaved project.
 * Select lists: the arrow no longer covers long choices.
 * Security hardening: everything the plugin prints is escaped where it is printed,
every form and action checks its security code (nonce) first and on its own,
short messages after an action only show for links the plugin made for you, and
confirmations no longer use inline JavaScript.
 * Email previews open in a frame, exactly as the email is sent.
 * International examples and presets everywhere (for example a general “Mobile
   wallet” payment method).

#### 6.1.0

 * New: Reports in the free plugin (E-Projects Reports): invoiced, received, open
and overdue amounts for any period, per currency, with a CSV export of your invoices.
Who may open it is set with the new “View reports” permission.
 * New: checklists (subtasks) on tasks. Add the steps on the task screen and tick
them off there or with one tap in E-Projects; the progress (“2/4”) shows on the
task board and in the task lists. Clients see the checklist of the tasks shared
   with them.
 * ESoftWave Project Manager Pro 4.1.0 or newer is needed for the Pro features.

#### 6.0.0

 * New name: ESoftWave Project Manager. In the dashboard menu and on phones it is
called “E-Projects”. All your projects, clients, invoices and settings are kept.
 * ESoftWave Project Manager Pro 4.0.0 or newer is needed for the Pro features.

#### 5.1.0

 * Payment methods: each method can have its own logo (for example your bank’s or
wallet’s), chosen from the Media Library — clients see it next to the name in“
Pay this invoice”. Optional; without one the standard icon is shown.
 * Payment methods: “Bank transfer” makes clear you can add one for each bank account,
   at any bank.

#### 5.0.1

 * Payment methods: when a provider’s notification could not be confirmed yet (the
provider was briefly unreachable), the method now says the provider will send
   it again, instead of “refused”.
 * Texts updated for ESoftWave Project Manager Pro 3.1 (payments through WooCommerce).

#### 5.0.0

 * New logo and app icon. Everything else works as before and all your data is kept.
 * ESoftWave Project Manager Pro 3.0.0 or newer is needed for the Pro features.

#### 4.0.0

 * New name, logo and app icon.

#### 3.9.7

 * WordPress.org review: scripts and styles are loaded through WordPress’s script
and style functions; uploads are stored through wp_handle_upload(); more input
   sanitizing; the ESoftWave Project Manager menu sits after the WordPress menus;
quieter “Upgrade to Pro” links; external services documented with terms and privacy
links; the developer example file was removed (the built-in Test payments method
   is the example).

#### 3.9.6

 * The plugin is now simply named “ESoftWave Project Manager” (shorter name on the
Plugins screen and in the WordPress.org directory). Nothing else changes.

#### 3.9.5

 * The ready-made crypto payment method was removed from “Add a payment method”
and from the Free/Pro comparison. Payment methods you already added are not affected.
 * Upgrade page: describes the ESoftWave Project Manager Pro licence as it works
from Pro 1.7 (Pro features run while the licence is active, with reminders and
a grace period; the free plugin is never affected).

#### 3.9.4

 * New “Payment proofs to check” screen in the app: one card per proof with the
client, company, project, invoice (total and still to pay), amount, payment date,
method, bank, account, sender, reference, note, receipt and when it was sent.
Confirm it or mark it “Not received” (with a reason the client sees) right on
   the card.
 * The Home tile, the “payment proof” notification and the admin dashboard now open
the exact proof (highlighted), instead of the invoice list. The tile counts each
   proof, not each invoice.
 * A proof paid in another currency points to the invoice to enter the exchange
   rate first, as before.

#### 3.9.3

 * The Upgrade page describes ESoftWave Project Manager Pro’s phone number privacy.

#### 3.9.2

 * Online payments cope with slow or briefly unavailable providers: a request that
may safely be repeated (reading a payment, or one with the provider’s “same request”
key) is tried once more when the provider does not answer, is busy or has a temporary
error. Nothing is ever charged twice.
 * Back from the payment page while the provider is slow: the invoice now says the
payment is being confirmed (and checks again by itself) instead of showing an
error — the client is never told “nothing was charged” after paying.
 * A person paying never waits long: provider requests while someone waits have
   a shorter time limit.

#### 3.9.1

 * Invoices: once the client has sent payment proof for everything still open, the
invoice says “Your payment of … is being checked — no need to pay again” instead
of showing the payment options again.

#### 3.9.0

 * For add-ons and ESoftWave Project Manager Pro 1.6: new hooks on the Billing screen(`
   eswpm_billing_account`), above the client’s payment options (`eswpm_invoice_pay_top`),
on the client page in wp-admin (`eswpm_client_page_panel`), for every Activity
entry (`eswpm_activity_logged`), for the Reply-To of an email (`eswpm_mail_reply_to`),
for files kept elsewhere (`eswpm_file_remote_url`, `eswpm_file_deleted`).
 * Online payment methods that post their answer back (instead of a link) are now
   supported.
 * The Upgrade page lists the new Pro features.

#### 3.8.0

 * A redesigned admin: every ESoftWave Project Manager screen in wp-admin now has
the same look as the app — clean cards, rounded fields, brand-coloured buttons,
clear status chips, the app’s typeface — while the rest of wp-admin stays untouched.
 * New dashboard: a greeting with what needs you today (“Needs your attention”:
payment proofs to check, overdue invoices, payment dates to answer, accepted
quotes without an invoice, file changes requested, new client requests, projects
on hold), key numbers (active projects, open and overdue tasks, outstanding and
overdue money, received this month), your tasks with due dates, and project cards
with progress. Short lists with “View all”, so it stays fast with hundreds of
   projects.
 * Settings in tabs: one section at a time with a side menu (links to a section
open it directly), and a save bar that stays in view and warns about unsaved
   changes.
 * Invoices, quotes, projects and tasks lists: a summary strip with one-click filters—
outstanding and overdue amounts, paid, drafts, waiting quotes, projects on hold,
overdue tasks, tasks assigned to you.
 * Tidier lists and tables, and short dates on the task board cards.

#### 3.7.1

 * PDF invoices and quotes: long dates and project names in the header no longer
   run into each other.

#### 3.7.0

 * PDF invoices, quotes, payment receipts and account statements — “Download PDF”
in ESoftWave Project Manager and on the edit screens. Made by ESoftWave Project
Manager itself (no extra software), a few KB each, with your logo, colours, payment
   schedule and payments received.
 * The “Payment received” email now has the receipt attached as a PDF, plus a download
link that works without signing in (for that receipt only, 90 days).
 * Automatic payment reminders are now part of the free plugin: a friendly reminder
3 days before the due date, on the due date and 7 days after (Settings Payments&
hold). Never while payment proof waits for your check, while an online payment
is processing, or while an agreed payment date is ahead. Each invoice shows its
next reminder and can be paused. ESoftWave Project Manager Pro lets you choose
   your own schedule.
 * Account credit: keep an overpayment as credit, add a prepayment or goodwill credit
on the client’s page, and use it on the next invoice — by you, or by the client
with “Use my credit”. Used once even when two invoices are paid at the same moment.
 * Billing in ESoftWave Project Manager shows the client’s outstanding total, overdue
amount and credit, with an account statement (PDF).
 * Payment methods: optional minimum and maximum amount (e.g. bank transfer only
from 1,000) and an optional payment fee passed on to the client (e.g. 2.9% for
cards), shown before paying and recorded separately — only the invoice amount
   counts as paid.
 * Quotes: “When the client accepts” — send a deposit invoice or the full invoice
automatically. The client clicks “Accept and pay …” and goes straight to paying.
 * Sign-in links: the button in ESoftWave Project Manager emails signs clients in(
once, for 3 days, only client accounts — never your team). The login page offers“
Email me a sign-in link”. Settings App page.
 * File approvals: ask the client to approve a file (a design, document or video);
the client clicks “Approve” or “Request changes” with a note, and you are told.
Shown in the client’s “Needs your attention”.
 * For developers: filter `eswpm_reminder_plan`, actions on the new notifications“
File waiting for approval” and “File approved or changes requested”.

#### 3.6.0

 * Online payments now follow every outcome the provider reports: paid, processing(
for example a bank debit that takes a few days), failed, cancelled, expired,
refunded and disputed. A payment that is still processing is shown as “Payment
processing” and never counted as paid; paying again while it processes is prevented.
 * Refunds made in the payment provider’s dashboard update the invoice by themselves(
partial or full), and disputes (chargebacks) take the payment out of the paid
amount until they are won. The client and the team are told.
 * Payments are confirmed even when the client never comes back from the payment
page: ESoftWave Project Manager asks the provider every hour and when the invoice
is opened. A checkout nobody finished closes after two days.
 * Pressing “Pay” again closes the older, unused checkout at the provider, so only
one can be paid. A payment larger than the amount still open is recorded and
   flagged for the team.
 * Payment methods in test / sandbox mode are offered only on invoices where you
tick them, show a “Test mode” badge, and their payments are marked as test payments.
 * Payment notifications are accepted for methods that were switched off since (
earlier payments still need them), and the Payment methods screen shows when
   the last notification arrived.
 * Safe under load: the same payment confirmed at the same moment by the return
page and several notifications is recorded exactly once; invoice and quote numbers
stay unique when several are created at once; notifications, delayed emails,
reminders and daily follow-ups are never lost or sent twice.
 * Faster for teams with many projects: live updates, the app’s home and task screens
and the admin dashboard need far fewer database queries (for an administrator
with 28 projects a live update went from 380 to under 50). The notification list
is only sent again when it changed, and the app loads at most two tabs ahead.
 * Activity log: faster lists for projects and types; lines older than three years
are removed once a day (filter `eswpm_activity_keep_days`, 0 keeps everything).
 * When a payment provider cannot be reached, clients see a plain message; the technical
reason is shown under “Check connection”.
 * For developers: payment types can implement `check()`, `cancel()` and `is_test()`,
and report refunds and disputes with `ESWPM_Gateways::refund()` and `::dispute()`.
   See docs/payment-gateways.md.

#### 3.5.2

 * The installed app has a fixed identity: it is always called “ESoftWave Project
Manager” and always uses the ESoftWave Project Manager icon — on Android, iPhone,
iPad and computers, on the home screen, in the app list, in its window and in
its browser tab. It no longer uses the website’s Site Icon, and the “App name”,“
Name under the icon” and “App icon” settings were removed.
 * Icons made for each platform: rounded for launchers, windows and the Android
launch screen; full-bleed for the iPhone/iPad home screen and Android’s adaptive
   icons.
 * New “Launch screen colour” (Settings Phone app): the colour shown while the
installed app starts — Android and computer launch screens and new iPhone/iPad
launch images. Automatic by default: it matches the app’s own background in the
look each person uses (light or dark), so there is no flash of another colour
when the app appears. It never changes the app once it has opened.
 * The status bar and window title bar now match the app’s top bar (light or dark,
also when the look is switched inside the app) instead of the button colour.
 * The former “App background” switch is now called “Background panel (website layout)”—
it only applies when ESoftWave Project Manager is shown inside the website’s
   page.

#### 3.5.1

 * File safety is now fully automatic — no files wait for a review. Normal files
work as usual (clean pictures, PDFs and text open in the browser, everything
else downloads). Files with a concern — macros, interactive PDF code, a password,
archive contents that cannot be looked into, content that does not match the
file name, or not virus-scanned yet — are accepted as “Download only” with a
short label and are never opened or previewed on the website. Dangerous files
are still refused with a clear reason.
 * More everyday file types: RTF, Markdown, JSON, XML, HTML, calendar and contact
files, emails (.eml, .msg), Apple Pages/Numbers/Keynote, HEIC, TIFF, BMP, SVG,
Photoshop, Illustrator and EPS, MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, fonts(
TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2) and RAR, 7z, gz and tar archives. Each one is recognised
by its content, not by its name.
 * A picture saved with the wrong picture extension (a JPEG called .png) gets the
right one instead of being refused.
 * ClamAV is found automatically when the server runs it — no setup. Without it,
ESoftWave Project Manager’s own checks protect on their own; the status says
   so.
 * “File security: Protected” status in Settings File safety and on the File safety
screen, with recommendations when something could be better (for example the
   server’s own upload limit).
 * Upload limits: the real limit (ESoftWave Project Manager’s setting or the server’s,
whichever is lower) is shown and checked before uploading, with a clear message
when a file is too large.
 * A stored file that a later virus scan finds infected is removed from use automatically.

#### 3.5.0

 * New: File safety. Every file shared in ESoftWave Project Manager (project files,
chat files, payment receipts, profile photos) is checked before it is stored —
the file extension is never trusted on its own:
    - the real type is read from the file’s first bytes (a program renamed to “invoice.
      pdf” is refused);
    - pictures must be real pictures without hidden code; names with hidden direction
      characters or double extensions such as “photo.php.jpg” are refused;
    - PDFs are checked for launch actions, JavaScript and attached files (also inside
      compressed object streams);
    - Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are checked for macros (also hidden in .docx/.
xlsx), remote templates and other code loaded from the internet, DDE commands
      and embedded objects; CSV files for DDE formulas;
    - ZIP files are checked for programs, ZIP bombs, path tricks and password protection;
documents inside ZIPs get the same checks.
 * Files with active content (macros, PDF JavaScript, embedded objects, password
protection) are held in quarantine until an administrator releases them under
E-Projects File safety; dangerous files are refused with a clear explanation.
 * Stored files get random names ending in .bin in a folder where the web server
refuses access and scripts are switched off (.htaccess, web.config), so an uploaded
file can never run on the server. Existing files are renamed and re-checked automatically.
 * Optional: store files outside the public web folder (ESWPM_FILES_DIR in wp-config.
php, with a one-click move), and scan every file with ClamAV when your server
   runs it.
 * Downloads are sent with headers that stop browsers from running them (nosniff,
sandboxed content security policy) — only to people who may see the file.
 * New screen E-Projects File safety: protection status with a live test of the
folder protection, files waiting for review, and a security log (person, IP address,
SHA-256 fingerprint, reason). Uploads pause for 30 minutes after five blocked
files within an hour; administrators are told.

#### 3.4.2

 * Phone notifications arrive with the message itself, also when the screen is off:
each notification travels inside the push, end-to-end encrypted for that one
device (Web Push encryption), so the phone shows it at once instead of first
   going back to the website.
 * Tapping a notification opens that exact screen (a chat at the message) in the
open ESoftWave Project Manager window, or in a new one.
 * Devices stay registered by themselves: the app confirms its notification registration
every time it opens (also repairing one the site had dropped), and re-registers
when the browser renews it — no more switching notifications off and on.
 * iPhone/iPad: every push now shows a notification (Safari stops pushes to sites
that don’t), so notifications keep working.
 * An open ESoftWave Project Manager refreshes as soon as a push arrives, without
   waiting for its next check.

#### 3.4.1

 * The “Pro” badge shows once your ESoftWave Project Manager Pro licence is activated.
Before that, the dashboard shows “Licence not activated · Activate”.

#### 3.4.0

 * Live updates: a message that arrives while a screen is still opening now shows
within seconds (before, it could wait for the one-minute refresh).
 * For add-ons: files and forms can belong to something other than a project (filter“
eswpm_can_view_container”). ESoftWave Project Manager Pro uses it for the private
chat between a team member and the admins.

#### 3.3.2

 * More reliable connection check: a short delay, a phone waking up or switching
apps no longer shows the connection bar. The bar says “You are offline” only
when the device really has no connection, otherwise “Weak connection”, and it
disappears by itself as soon as the site answers.
 * Opening the app on a weak connection keeps trying for a few seconds before the
offline screen appears. That screen tells “offline” apart from “the site is slow”,
checks again every few seconds (each check limited to 8 seconds) and reloads
   by itself.
 * The offline screen is only used for the app’s own pages; the rest of the website
   is left alone.

#### 3.3.1

 * The email design previews (contact form, password reset) are built from your
   own site name and address.

#### 3.3.0

 * New: “Set up ESoftWave Project Manager” checklist on the dashboard — company
details, a test email, payment methods, first client, first project and linking
the page; each step checks itself off and links to the right screen. Hide it
   any time.
 * Demo data is now fully separate: its client always gets a new account (a made-
up address if you leave the email empty), its invoices and quotes are numbered
DEMO-…, so your real numbering is never used.
 * Names: an email address is never shown as a person’s name — people without a
name show as ” team” or “Client”.

#### 3.2.1

 * With ESoftWave Project Manager Pro active, a “Pro” badge shows next to the ESoftWave
Project Manager title (dashboard, settings, payment methods), and the dashboard
shows the licence status: active, updates until a date, renew soon, ended, or
not activated yet — one click opens the licence screen.

#### 3.2.0

 * New: E-Projects Upgrade to Pro — what ESoftWave Project Manager Pro adds, Free
and Pro side by side, and how upgrading works. Shown to administrators only,
and only while Pro is not installed.
 * Small Pro tips where a Pro feature fits (dashboard, payment methods, an invoice’s
follow-up box); each can be hidden with ×. Nothing is ever shown to clients.
 * The dashboard no longer shows “+ Project from a template” without Pro (templates
   are a Pro feature).

#### 3.1.1

 * Email wording: client emails can be managed in WaveMail when WaveMail Pro is
active (WaveMail 2.1 moved its developer functions to Pro).

#### 3.1.0

 * Live chat is now part of ESoftWave Project Manager Pro (1.1.0 or newer). The
free plugin focuses on project management: projects, tasks, approvals, files,
quotes and invoices. Existing chats and messages are kept and are shown again
   when Pro is active.
 * New: “People on this project” on the project overview, with email and WhatsApp
buttons for those allowed to see contact details.
 * A client’s “Done / Approved” or “Changes needed” answer is saved as a note on
the task, so the team sees it in context.
 * Help center rewritten for the free plugin, with new pictures.
 * The project tabs keep a readable background while you scroll.
 * New developer hooks for add-ons (see docs/hooks.md).

#### 3.0.1

 * Tidy-up: removed compatibility code for pre-release versions.

#### 3.0.0

 * First public version: projects, tasks and Kanban board, three chats per project,
files, quotes with online acceptance, invoices with schedules and currencies,
manual payments and payment links, payment dates and project hold, client contacts
with roles, notifications, phone app, branded sign-in and emails, help center
   and demo data.
 * Developer hooks for add-ons (docs/hooks.md) and a payment-method API (docs/payment-
   gateways.md).
