The free plugin provides a useful visibility foundation without requiring an account, license key, or external AI service. Unlike a generic `llms.txt` generator, Emargy GEO works at the WooCommerce product layer. When the optional Google Tag Manager integration is enabled, the visitor’s browser may send commerce event data to Google according to the store owner’s Google configuration and consent setup. Store owners are responsible for their privacy notice and consent requirements. The public `llms.txt`, sitemap, and AI Catalog endpoints expose information derived from published, indexable store content. Token protection is available for the AI Catalog. ### External services #### Google Tag Manager Google Tag Manager is optional and is not contacted by default. Its script is loaded from `googletagmanager.com` only when a store administrator enables tracking and saves a Google Tag Manager container ID. When enabled, the visitor’s browser can send the current page context and WooCommerce commerce events to Google. Depending on the page and the store’s container configuration, event data may include product IDs or SKUs, product names, categories, brand, prices, currency, quantities, cart or order totals, transaction ID, tax, shipping, and coupon codes. Consent Mode v2 defaults can be enabled so advertising and analytics storage begin in a denied state until the store’s consent management platform updates consent. Install and activate WooCommerce. 2. Upload the `emargy-geo` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install it from the WordPress plugin screen. 3. Activate **Emargy GEO – AI Visibility for WooCommerce**. 4. Open **Emargy GEO > Getting Started**. 5. Confirm Compatibility Mode, then run the Merchant Readiness audit. 6. Review `llms.txt` and the AI Catalog from **Emargy GEO > AI Discovery**. ## FAQ ### Does the free plugin require a license key? No. All features shipped in the WordPress.org version work without a license key or Emargy account. ### Does Emargy GEO send my products to an external service? The plugin generates audits, schema, sitemaps, `llms.txt`, and AI Catalog output on your own WordPress site. It does not send this data to Emargy. If you explicitly enable the optional Google Tag Manager integration, visitors’ browsers can send the commerce events described under External services to Google. ### Does this guarantee that AI assistants will recommend my products? No. The plugin improves machine-readable product information and discovery endpoints. Search engines and AI services independently decide what they crawl, index, cite, or recommend. ### Will it conflict with my SEO plugin? Emargy GEO detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO, and SEOPress. Automatic Compatibility Mode defers overlapping metadata while retaining commerce-specific checks and discovery features. Always verify structured data on a staging site after changing SEO plugins. ### What information appears in the AI Catalog? Published, indexable WooCommerce product information such as name, URL, description, price, availability, identifiers, brand, images, and categories. Products excluded in plugin settings or marked `noindex` are omitted. ### Can I make the AI Catalog private? Yes. Enable token protection in Settings. Requests must then include the generated catalog token. ### Does analytics tracking load automatically? Commerce dataLayer events are optional. Google Tag Manager is loaded only when tracking is enabled and a valid container ID is configured. Consent Mode v2 can default analytics and advertising storage to denied. ### What data is removed on uninstall? Nothing is removed by default.
