It scans for common sources of unnecessary database growth and shows you exactly what it found before anything is removed. Nothing is deleted automatically — every cleanup requires you to review a preview and explicitly confirm. **What it cleans** * **Post revisions** — keeps a configurable number of the most recent revisions per post and removes the rest. The current published or draft content is never touched. * **Auto-drafts** — removes stale auto-drafts older than a threshold you choose. * **Trashed content** — permanently deletes items already sitting in the trash, past an age threshold you choose. Nothing is moved to trash by this plugin. * **Spam comments** — permanently deletes comments already marked as spam. Approved, pending, and unapproved comments are never affected. * **Expired transients** — removes only transient cache data that has already expired according to WordPress’s own expiration timestamps. **Also included** * A database overview showing total size, table counts, and the largest tables. * A table optimizer that reclaims overhead space on eligible tables, without changing table structure, indexes, or schema. * An optional, fully configurable scheduled cleanup using WP-Cron — off by default, and you choose exactly which tasks run and how often. * Safe batch processing designed to avoid timeouts and memory exhaustion on large sites. #### Privacy This plugin runs entirely on your own server. It does not collect telemetry, does not send your database or site information anywhere, does not require an account or license key, and makes no external network requests. #### Safety * Every cleanup module shows a count before you can clean. * Destructive actions require explicit confirmation. * Nothing runs automatically unless you turn on scheduled cleanup, and even then only the tasks you enable will run. * A database backup is always recommended before permanent cleanup — this plugin does not create backups for you. ## Installation 1. Upload the plugin files to `/wp-content/plugins/elevoire-database-optimizer`, or install directly through the WordPress plugin screen. 2. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” screen. 3. Go to **Database Optimizer** in your WordPress admin menu to view your database overview. ## FAQ ### Will this delete my content? No content is deleted unless you specifically scan a cleanup module, review what it found, and click the cleanup button. Trashed content and spam comments are only ever items already in those states — this plugin never moves content to trash or marks comments as spam on its own. ### Does this create backups? No. This plugin does not create or manage backups. We recommend taking a database backup before running any permanent cleanup. ### Does it work on large sites? Yes. Cleanup operations are processed in small batches to avoid timeouts and memory issues, whether run manually or on a schedule. ### Does it support multisite? Yes. Table analysis and cleanup operate per-site, and expired network-wide transients are handled separately and safely. ### Does this send any data externally? No. All scanning and cleanup happens locally on your WordPress installation. No telemetry, tracking, or external requests are made. ### Is there a Pro version? Not yet. The About page in the plugin describes planned future capabilities for a separate premium add-on.
