Disable auto-update Email Notifications

Description

Since WordPress 5.5, if you have enabled plugin or theme auto-update you will receive an email notification when a plugin or them auto-update is successful or when it has failed.

If you manage a dozen of websites, then the constant stream of auto-update emails may be annoying.

This plugin seeks to cure the problem by automatically disabling plugin and themes email auto-update notifications.

All other notification will be ON. This plugin only stops plugin and theme auto-update notifications. Not core WordPress updates.

Plugin does the job on most of my websites but not all of them, however support is really fast to answer 🙂

It's a fully functional plugin, which does what it claims. However, would be nice to see in future if there would be more possible settings, e.g. information when plugin update failed etc. 🙂

Since WordPress 5.5 likes to spam us with plugin update notification mails and there was no setting to switch this off, I am happy that this plugin exist. Even if it may become obsolete in some future. Would give it 5 stars if it was not an all or nothing thing and if you don't enter the exact and full length name it is darn hard to find in the plugin repo. The latter has probably more to do with the ineffective way the plugin directory works. Still.

There's always one thing or another that every major update brings to WordPress that means we got to add yet another piece of code to WP to stop or hide things... If it isn't intrusive notices and advertising from Automattic, then it is a half-baked addition which requires yet another tweak - surely whoever added auto-updates would actually provide a switch to disable such notifications in the first place (which seems like something obvious that should have been in WP from the beginning)... Thank you for creating this - I just can't be bothered pushing updates to function files on our many WP sites, but I can mass-update them with this simple plugin to stop the irritating emails.

Quick way to disable the auto_plugin_update_send_email and auto_theme_update_send_email filters. Straight to the point no extra bloat.
