## Description

DevTet Monitor connects a WordPress site to your DevTet account. Whenever you
 update
WordPress core, a plugin or a theme, the update is recorded automatically and shown
in the branded monthly report your agency sends the client — no manual logging needed.

Every auto-logged entry stays fully editable in DevTet: you can change its time,

edit the text, hide it from a report, or delete it.

This plugin is a companion to the DevTet service (https://devtet.com) and
 requires
a DevTet account to be useful. It does nothing until you enter a site key from your
DevTet dashboard.

#### Features

 * Logs WordPress core updates automatically
 * Logs plugin updates (single and bulk) with the new version
 * Logs theme updates with the new version
 * Reports pending core/plugin/theme updates so your DevTet dashboard shows which
   sites need attention
 * No manual work — updates appear in your DevTet client report
 * Lightweight: an update sends immediately; pending updates sync once a day

### External services

This plugin connects to the DevTet API (https://devtet.com) to record the
 updates
you perform on this site.

 * **What is sent:** (1) when you update something — the type of update (core,

plugin or theme), the name and new version of the updated item(s), and the timestamp;(
   2) once a day — a list of installed plugins and themes with their current and
latest available versions, plus the WordPress core version, so DevTet can show
   which updates are pending.
 * **When it is sent:** update events on completion; the daily list on a
    scheduled
job. Both only if you have entered a DevTet endpoint URL and site key on the
Settings DevTet Monitor screen. Nothing is sent before that.
 * **Where it is sent:** the endpoint URL you configure, which points to the
    DevTet
API (by default https://devtet.com/api/v1/wp/events, and the matching https://
   devtet.com/api/v1/wp/health for the daily list).

No personal data about site visitors is collected or sent.

By using this plugin with a DevTet account you agree to the DevTet Terms of
 Service(
https://devtet.com/legal/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://devtet.com/legal/privacy).

## Installation

 1. In DevTet, open the monitor for this site and click “Connect WordPress”.
 2. Copy the Endpoint URL and Site key shown there.
 3. Install and activate this plugin on the WordPress site.
 4. Go to Settings DevTet Monitor, paste the Endpoint URL and Site key, and save.

That’s it. The next time you run an update, it appears in DevTet automatically.

## FAQ

### Do I need a DevTet account?

Yes. This plugin only sends update data to your DevTet account and does nothing

without a site key from your DevTet dashboard.

### Does it slow down my site?

No. It sends an update event when an update finishes, and syncs a list of
 pending
updates once a day via WP-Cron. It adds no front-end code.

### What data leaves my site?

The updates you perform (type, name, new version, time), and once a day a list

of installed plugins/themes with their versions so DevTet can show pending updates.
No visitor data and no content. See the “External services” section.

### Can I edit or delete an auto-logged update?

Yes. Every entry it creates is a normal maintenance-log entry in DevTet that you

can edit, retime, hide from a report, or delete.

### I updated something but nothing appeared in DevTet.

Check that the Endpoint URL and Site key are saved under Settings DevTet
 Monitor,
and that your host allows outbound HTTPS requests (some hosts block them). Reconnecting
from the DevTet dashboard issues a fresh key.
