The answer is sitting on your shipping page. They don’t find it, nobody’s awake to point them there, and they leave. Click Connect, and DeskClone reads this website, starting with the pages most likely to hold support answers: your front page, your menu, then pages like pricing, FAQ, shipping and returns. It builds a support agent from what you’ve already written. When the agent is ready, the chat shows up on your site by itself. No key to paste, nothing to configure. Try it yourself before your visitors do. The settings screen has a test panel where you can quiz your agent. Test questions come out of their own daily allowance and never use your monthly conversations. The classic path is still here: paste a connection key from your DeskClone dashboard into the settings and the widget uses that instead. Nothing about the connected flow is required. How the agent looks and behaves (name, welcome message, colors, which websites it may appear on) lives in your DeskClone dashboard, and a change there shows on your site straight away. The plugin doesn’t keep a second copy of any of it. #### About DeskClone AI To a visitor it looks like a support chatbot in the corner of the page. Behind it, DeskClone AI is a hosted platform for building AI support agents. Answering is only the start. An agent can be given real jobs: looking up orders, processing refunds within limits you set, booking appointments, opening a ticket in your help desk. You describe what you need to Jarvis, the builder inside the platform, or hand it your documents. Paid plans add conversation capacity, automatic knowledge updates, more agents and more websites; the Free and Starter widgets show a small “Powered by DeskClone” line, which Pro and Business remove. ### External services This plugin connects to DeskClone AI, a hosted service operated by DeskClone (the entity named in its terms of service), and cannot work without it. Here is exactly what is sent, and when. **When you click Connect.** A DeskClone sign-in window opens (you can use Google there). After you approve, this WordPress server exchanges a short-lived code for a connection credential and stores it in your database. The exchange sends the code and this site’s address. Nothing is sent before you click Connect. **When you build the agent.** The plugin sends your site name and an ordered list of this site’s own page addresses (front page, menu links, policy pages such as shipping or returns, your other pages, then recent posts) so DeskClone reads the most useful pages first. DeskClone then fetches those public pages the way any visitor’s browser would. **On your public pages, when the widget is on.** The visitor’s browser loads the widget script from https://agents.deskclone.ai/embed/chat.js and the chat talks to https://agents.deskclone.ai. What reaches DeskClone: the visitor’s messages, any file they choose to attach, the address and title of the page they are on, their browser’s timezone, and a name or email if your agent is set to ask. A random visitor id is stored in the visitor’s browser so a returning visitor can pick up their conversation. To keep bots out, the widget also loads Cloudflare Turnstile from https://challenges. cloudflare.com; Cloudflare’s terms (https://www.cloudflare.com/website-terms/) and privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) apply to that check. **When you save or test a manual key.** One request to https://agents.deskclone. ai carrying the key and this site’s address, so DeskClone can confirm the key belongs to a published agent allowed on this site. Nothing is sent on activation, and nothing is ever sent in the background. Every request above happens because you or a visitor did something. There is no analytics of any kind in the plugin. The connection credential can be revoked any time from your DeskClone dashboard; deleting the plugin removes the local copy and every option the plugin created. Install and activate the plugin from Plugins > Add New, or upload the zip. 2. Go to Settings > DeskClone AI and click Connect DeskClone. Sign in or create an account in the window that opens (Google works), and approve the site. 3. Click “Build my agent from this website” and watch it go: in line, building, live. When it says live, open your site. The chat is already there. 4. Quiz it in the test panel. Then let your visitors at it. Already have a DeskClone agent? Skip Connect: open “Widget display settings and manual key”, paste your connection key, tick “Show the widget”, save. ## FAQ ### What does free actually include? Your agent live on this one website, and 10 full visitor conversations a month. A conversation is one visitor’s whole chat, however many messages it takes. Replies aren’t counted one by one. Your own test questions have a separate daily allowance( a bigger one on your first days) and don’t touch the 10. When the month’s allowance is used up, visitors see a polite notice instead of answers, and the settings screen tells you exactly where you stand, including the day it resets. ### Where do the agent’s answers come from? From this site’s own published pages. The build reads up to 25 of them, picked by your site’s structure: your front page first, then your menu, then pages like pricing, FAQ, contact, shipping and returns, then the rest. Updated your site? One click on “Teach it your latest pages” re-reads it. Your agent keeps answering from what it already knows while that runs. ### The build failed. Now what? The settings screen shows the exact reason, not a shrug. A site with no readable content, a page budget already used this month, a service error: each one says so in plain words, with the next step. Building again is one click. ### Can I keep the chat off my checkout page? Yes. Under “Widget display settings” choose “Every page except the ones listed below” and add /checkout/. If you run WooCommerce there is a single checkbox for cart and checkout. ### Where do I change the color, the welcome message, or the agent’s name? In your DeskClone dashboard, under Agents > your agent > Share. Changes apply to your site without touching the plugin. The settings screen links straight to the right spot. ### I use a caching or optimization plugin. Will the widget still load? The widget reads its settings from its own script tag, so it needs that tag left as it is. The plugin asks WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Autoptimize and Cloudflare Rocket Loader to leave the tag alone. If your optimizer is a different one and the bubble doesn’t appear, exclude agents.deskclone.ai from script combining and delaying in that plugin’s settings. ### Is this a live chat plugin? No. Nobody on your team sits in a chat window waiting. Your agent answers customer service questions on its own, at any hour, from your own pages. When something needs a person, it can collect a name and email and hand the conversation over, so your team picks it up in your own inbox or help desk with the history attached. ### How do I undo the connection? “Disconnect this site” on the settings screen forgets the credential locally. You can also revoke the credential from your DeskClone dashboard, which kills it everywhere at once.
