## Description
**DCI Vertical Marquee Widget for Elementor** adds a stunning, scroll-reactive marquee
cards section to your Elementor-powered website. Cards animate in a continuous loop—
vertically or horizontally — and react to the visitor’s scroll direction in real
time, creating an engaging, dynamic portfolio or gallery section.
#### Key Features
* **Dual marquee direction** — vertical (up/down) or horizontal (left/right) with
a single click.
* **Scroll-reactive animation** — marquee direction reverses when the visitor scrolls
up or down.
* **Multi-column layout** — 1, 2, 3, or 4 columns (vertical) / rows (horizontal).
* **Card types** — Tall, Square, and Short card heights, configurable per card.
* **Per-card controls** — individually toggle image, tag, title, description, and
add a custom link.
* **Alternate direction** — odd columns/rows scroll opposite for visual depth.
* **Pause on hover** — optionally freeze the animation when the cursor is over
the widget.
* **Edge fade masks** — smooth top/bottom or left/right gradient fades match your
section background.
* **Full styling** — typography, colours, border radius, border, box shadow, hover
states, and padding — all controlled from the Elementor Style tab without touching

#### Getting Started
1. Install and activate **Elementor** (free).
2. Install and activate **DCI Vertical Marquee Widget for Elementor**.
3. Edit any page with Elementor, search for **“Vertical Marquee”** in the widget panel,
and drag it onto your canvas.
4. Add your cards via the **Cards** repeater in the Content tab, configure layout
options, and style everything from the Style tab.

## Installation
**From the WordPress Plugin Directory (recommended)**
1. Go to **Plugins Add New** in your WordPress dashboard.
2. Search for **DCI Vertical Marquee Widget**.
3. Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.
**Manual installation**
1. Download the plugin ZIP file.
2. Go to **Plugins Add New Upload Plugin**.
3. Choose the ZIP file and click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.
**Via FTP**
1. Unzip the plugin and upload the `dci-vertical-marquee-widget` folder to `/wp-content/
plugins/`.
2. Activate the plugin via **Plugins Installed Plugins**.
## FAQ
### Do I need Elementor Pro?
No. The plugin works with the free version of Elementor.
### How many cards can I add?
There is no hard limit. You can add as many cards as you need via the Cards repeater
in the Content tab.
### Can I use it as a portfolio or gallery section?
Yes. Add images, titles, descriptions, category tags, and an optional link per card
to build a scroll-reactive portfolio or image gallery.
### Does it work with WordPress 7.0?
Yes. The plugin has been tested with WordPress 7.0 (the latest release as of May
2026) and Elementor 4.0.
### Is the animation accessible?
The plugin respects the visitor’s `prefers-reduced-motion` browser setting by halting
the CSS-driven animation when motion reduction is preferred.
