Every decision is stored as a verifiable consent record, and Google Consent Mode v2 is set before any Google tag fires. **Connect in one click.** Click “Connect with Cookiepass”, sign in or create a free account, done. The plugin sets up your site and a standard banner with your privacy policy and imprint links. The free plan covers one website. You can create the account during the connection step. The plugin is open source (GPLv2 or later). Cookiepass, the service it connects to, is a commercial service operated by PF Capital Management UG (haftungsbeschränkt). ### External services This plugin connects your site to **Cookiepass** (https://cookiepass.io), a consent management service operated by PF Capital Management UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Germany. Without it the plugin cannot show a banner. 1. **Banner script.** On every page of your site, the visitor’s browser loads `https:// cdn.cookiepass.io/cp.js` together with your property ID. Like any file request, this sends the visitor’s IP address and browser information to Cookiepass. The script then loads your banner configuration from Cookiepass. 2. **Consent records.** When a visitor makes or changes a choice, the script sends the decision to Cookiepass: a random consent ID, the chosen categories, the banner language and version. Cookiepass stores it together with the browser’s user agent and a shortened IP address as proof of consent. 3. **Cookie list and installation check.** The script reports the names of cookies and browser storage entries found on the page, so that the banner can list them, and whether the banner is installed correctly. No cookie values are sent. 4. **Connecting.** When an administrator clicks “Connect with Cookiepass”, the browser opens cookiepass.io with your site’s domain, the address of this settings page, the site name and, if set, the addresses of your privacy policy and imprint pages. Cookiepass sends the browser back with the property ID of your site. Install and activate the plugin. 2. Go to Settings Cookiepass and click “Connect with Cookiepass”. 3. Sign in or create a free account, confirm your domain – you are sent back to WordPress and the banner is live. Prefer to do it by hand? Open “Enter property ID manually” and paste the ID from the Cookiepass dashboard (“Implementation”). ## FAQ ### Does this work with Google Analytics, Google Ads and Tag Manager? Yes. Cookiepass sets the Google Consent Mode v2 defaults (everything denied) before any Google tag loads – on every plan. From the Starter plan on, it also passes the visitor’s decision on to Google. ### I use a caching or optimisation plugin. Do I need to change anything? Usually not. When you connect or change settings, the plugin empties the page cache of common caching plugins so the banner shows up right away. The plugin marks its script so that WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Autoptimize, Jetpack Boost, WP Meteor and Cloudflare Rocket Loader leave it alone. If another plugin delays or combines JavaScript, exclude `cdn.cookiepass.io/cp.js` there. ### Some trackers still load before consent. The banner script is printed first in ``. Scripts that a theme writes into its template before `wp_head()` run earlier – move them into a plugin or a tag manager, or mark them with `type="text/plain" data-cookiepass="statistics"` (or `marketing`). ### Can I use it on a staging site? Yes. Connect your live domain once and choose it when you connect the staging site, or paste the same property ID manually. Subdomains of a connected domain work automatically. ### Where do I change the design and texts? In the Cookiepass dashboard under “Configuration”.
