You can follow optimization progress from WordPress and continue working while larger jobs are processed. The Image CDN and Convertly Storage features are optional. Enable only the features your site needs under **Settings > Convertly Media**. #### More than a basic image compressor Convertly combines several media workflows that normally require separate plugins. In addition to image compression, it can process selected video and audio files, restore backed-up originals, run on-demand media tools, import files from site-isolated Convertly Storage, and deliver existing WordPress images through an origin-fetch CDN without re-uploading the Media Library. This is the official WordPress plugin for the Convertly service. It is published and maintained by Convertly. #### What you need You need a Convertly account and a WordPress site token. Each site receives its own token, so agencies can keep client sites and their media separate. Create an account or learn more at https://convertly.sh. ## Installation 1. Upload the plugin ZIP in Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. 2. Activate Convertly Media Optimizer. 3. Open Settings > Convertly Media. 4. Paste the WordPress site token created for this site. 5. Choose how you want new uploads and existing media to be optimized. ## FAQ ### Do I need a Convertly account? Yes. The plugin uses Convertly to process media and requires a WordPress site token. Use one WordPress site token per client install and choose **No storage or Isolated storage** when you create it. This keeps each client’s media access separate. ### Is this the official Convertly plugin? Yes. Convertly Media Optimizer is published and maintained by the owner of the Convertly service and the convertly.sh domain. ### Does optimization happen on my WordPress server? No. Convertly performs the heavy media processing, helping reduce the CPU and memory work required from your WordPress hosting. ### Can I import assets from Convertly Storage? Yes, when storage access is enabled for the site’s token. Open **Media > Convertly Storage** to browse and import files. Convertly remembers imported files so it can avoid creating unnecessary duplicates. If the token has No storage, optimization still works. ### Can Convertly Storage auto-import into WordPress? Yes. Enable auto-import under **Settings > Convertly Media** when the plugin uses a WordPress site token that has isolated storage enabled. The plugin periodically adds new workspace files to the Media Library and skips files it has already imported. ### How do I enable Image CDN mode? First create your delivery setup in Convertly. Then open **Settings > Convertly Media > Image CDN** in WordPress and use the automatic setup button. The built-in test shows a real optimized image before you enable delivery. When enabled, eligible Media Library images are delivered through Convertly and cached for faster repeat visits. Your original images remain in WordPress and are not copied into Convertly Storage. ### Does this plugin connect to an external service? Yes. Convertly is the service that processes and returns your media.
