## Description

Embed a beautiful, real-time currency converter on your WordPress site in seconds.

needs to show currency conversions.

#### Key Features

 * **150+ currencies** — All major world currencies supported
 * **Real-time exchange rates** — Updated every minute, automatically
 * **No signup or API keys** — Install and use, that’s it
 * **Three ways to use** — Gutenberg block, shortcode, and sidebar widget
 * **Fully customizable** — Choose currencies, theme (light/dark), accent color,
   and size
 * **Lightweight** — Loads as a small iframe, doesn’t slow down your site

#### How to use

**Gutenberg Block (recommended):**
Add a new block, search for “Currency Converter”,
and configure it visually.

**Shortcode (any page or post):**
 [converterhub_widget from=”USD” to=”EUR” amount
=”100″]

Available attributes: `from`, `to`, `amount`, `theme` (light/dark), `accent` (hex
color), `width`, `height`.

**Sidebar Widget:**
Go to Appearance Widgets and add “Currency Converter (Converterhub)”
to any widget area.

#### Use cases

 * **E-commerce** — Display prices in multiple currencies
 * **Finance blogs** — Provide instant currency conversions for readers
 * **Forex/Crypto sites** — Quick conversion reference
 * **Educational sites** — Currency conversion examples for students

#### How it works

The plugin embeds a lightweight iframe that loads the live currency converter from
converterhub.com. Exchange rates are pulled from official sources and updated continuously.

#### Attribution (optional, off by default)

The converter does NOT show any “Powered by” attribution link by default and the
plugin works exactly the same whether you enable it or not. There is no requirement,
no nag, and no reduced functionality if you leave it off.

If you choose to enable it, you can do so in three places:

 * Plugin settings: Settings Currency Converter Attribution
 * Gutenberg block sidebar: Attribution panel
 * Shortcode attribute: `show_credit="yes"`

#### Privacy

This plugin loads an iframe from converterhub.com. When visitors view a page with
the widget, their browser makes a request to converterhub.com to load the converter.
No personal information is collected, stored, or tracked by this plugin. See https://
converterhub.com/en/privacy-policy/ for details on the converterhub.com privacy
practices.

#### External services

This plugin embeds a third-party iframe from https://converterhub.com/embed/converter/
to display real-time currency exchange rates. By using this plugin, you and your
site visitors interact with this external service.

## FAQ

### Is this plugin really free?

Yes, completely free for personal and commercial use. No premium version, no API
keys, no upsells.

### Where do the exchange rates come from?

Rates are pulled from professional currency data providers and updated every minute.
They’re aggregated from interbank rates and reflect real-time market values.

### Can I customize the appearance?

Yes. You can choose from light or dark themes, set a custom accent color, and adjust
the size (width and height). The Gutenberg block has a visual customizer panel.

### Does it work with page builders like Elementor or Divi?

Yes. Use the shortcode `[converterhub_widget]` in any HTML/Shortcode element.

### Does it slow down my site?

No. The widget loads as an iframe, which is rendered separately by the browser and
doesn’t block your page rendering. The iframe itself is lightweight (~5KB).

### Can I use it offline?

No, the widget needs an internet connection to fetch live exchange rates from converterhub.
com.

### Does it work with caching plugins?

Yes. The widget is just an iframe, so it works with any caching setup including
WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, etc.

### Does the widget show a “Powered by Converterhub” link?

No. The attribution link is **off by default** and completely optional. The plugin
functions identically with or without it. There is no license requirement, no nag,
and no reduced functionality if you leave it off. You can opt-in via the plugin
settings page (Settings Currency Converter Attribution), the Gutenberg block sidebar,
or by adding `show_credit="yes"` to the shortcode.

   it is enabled or not.
 * Added `type`, `default`, and `show_in_rest` keys to `register_setting()` for
   stricter typing.

#### 1.0.0
