## Description

Conqueror is an SEO service that researches keywords, then improves the pages on

your site to rank for them. Its agents read your published content and propose a
rewrite; you review each proposal as a diff inside Conqueror and decide whether
to apply it.

This plugin is the starting point inside wp-admin. It does three things:

 * Checks the three things that make connecting fail – HTTPS, application
    passwords,
and REST API reachability – and tells you which one to fix.
 * Gives you a button that opens Conqueror with this site’s URL prefilled.
 * Explains what Conqueror will and will not do to your site.

**Nothing on this site changes until you apply a rewrite.** Conqueror never
 publishes
on its own.

#### What this plugin sends

Nothing. It stores no credentials, contains no tracking, and makes no requests to

Conqueror or any other external service. The one network request it makes is a loopback
request to your own site’s REST API, to check that an outside caller can reach it.

Access is granted by WordPress itself, through the core application-password
 screen(`
wp-admin/authorize-application.php`), which you approve while logged into this site.
The plugin never sees the resulting password. Revoke it any time under **Users
Profile Application Passwords**, or by disconnecting in Conqueror.

#### A Conqueror account is required

The plugin is a connector; the service does the work. Conqueror is a paid
 third-
party service operated by Conqueror. See [the site](https://winwith.conquerorapp.com)
for terms and pricing.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate the plugin.
 2. Open **Conqueror** in the wp-admin menu.
 3. Fix anything the readiness panel reports as failing.
 4. Click **Connect this site to Conqueror**, choose your project, and approve the

    connection on your own site.

## FAQ

### Will it publish or change my posts?

Not on its own. Rewrites are proposals you review and apply from inside
 Conqueror.
Nothing on the site changes until you do.

### Do I need HTTPS?

Yes, for the one-click connection – WordPress core refuses to issue application

passwords over plain HTTP (local development installs are exempt). Without HTTPS
you can still connect by creating an application password manually under **Users
Profile**.

### The readiness panel says application passwords are turned off.

Some hosts and security plugins disable them via the
 wp_is_application_passwords_available
filter. Ask your host to enable it, or use the manual connect form in Conqueror.

### How do I disconnect?

Revoke the “Conqueror” entry under **Users Profile Application Passwords**,
 or
click Disconnect in the project’s settings in Conqueror. Deleting this plugin does
not disconnect the site, because the connection is not stored here.
