You can also bulk-convert existing images in the Media Library. Original-image backup and restoration are supported. It uses PHP Imagick when available and falls back to ImageMagick CLI. * Automatic conversion on upload. * Media Library scan and batch conversion. * Optional scheduled conversion using WP-Cron, disabled by default until an administrator enables it. * Authenticated encrypted original backups with opaque filenames under `wp-content/ uploads/cmyk-originals/`. * Configurable retention with daily backup cleanup. * Configurable conversion-log retention with daily cleanup. * Conversion history, authenticated original downloads and one-click full-size restoration. * CSV export of the conversion log. * Removal of stale EWWW WebP/AVIF sidecars so an optimizer can regenerate them. * Unlimited JPEG and single-page TIFF image conversions in the free edition. Uploaded images and image contents never leave your WordPress server. The optional one-question Yes/No satisfaction feedback is stored only in this WordPress site’s options. It has no free-text field, does not collect personal information, is not written to conversion logs, and is never sent externally. Administrators can clear it from Settings. ### Privacy and external services The plugin includes the Freemius SDK for opt-in usage analytics, update and future licensing support. Administrators may choose whether to share basic site, user, plugin, theme and environment information with Freemius. Declining does not disable image conversion. Freemius may also show an optional feedback form when the plugin is deactivated. Install the plugin ZIP and activate it. 2. Open **Media > ColorBreezy** to check the environment before scanning or converting. Conversion requires the Sodium API and either PHP Imagick or ImageMagick CLI. The CLI fallback also requires PHP to allow `exec` and `proc_open`. 3. If a dependency is unavailable, activation still succeeds, but conversion stays paused. The ColorBreezy page shows the missing requirement; ask your host to enable it, then reload the page and complete setup. ## FAQ ### Which formats are supported? JPEG and single-page TIFF. Multi-page TIFF is left unchanged to avoid losing pages. PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF and other non-CMYK formats are also skipped without modification. ### What happens when the Imagick extension is not installed? ColorBreezy automatically uses ImageMagick CLI if the commands are available to PHP and `exec` and `proc_open` are enabled. If neither processor can run, the plugin remains active but does not convert images. The dashboard identifies the active processor, while the System tab provides more detail. ### Is conversion limited in the free edition? No. JPEG and single-page TIFF conversion is unlimited. Request throttling and batch- size limits protect the server from accidental overload. Individual image inputs must be no larger than 50 MiB, 40 megapixels, or 20,000 pixels on either edge. Server policies may impose lower limits. Images that cannot be safely processed are left unchanged; check the conversion log for details. ### Can I network-activate ColorBreezy on WordPress Multisite? Network activation is not supported. Activate and configure ColorBreezy separately on each site. Network-wide conversion, settings and cleanup are not provided. ### Where are originals stored? Under `wp-content/uploads/cmyk-originals/` as authenticated encrypted `.cmyk-backup` payloads with opaque names. The encryption key stays locally in a non-autoloaded WordPress option. A directly served backup payload does not contain the original image bytes. Daily WP-Cron cleanup enforces the configured retention period. The current v2 encrypted format binds each payload to its own opaque backup identity. Older plaintext and v1 encrypted payloads are deliberately not restored or served; create a new backup by reconverting from a trusted original instead. ### What happens if WordPress regenerates thumbnails after conversion? Restoration uses the exact main image and size set recorded at backup time, even if current attachment metadata later removes or renames a size. Original paths that no longer exist are recreated. Sizes added after conversion are intentionally retained and are not deleted or overwritten by restoration. ### Does the plugin upload images elsewhere? No. Detection, backup and conversion run locally. See Privacy for the separate optional Freemius telemetry disclosure. ### How is satisfaction feedback handled? After the first successful conversion, the admin may see one optional Yes/No question. The selected Yes, No, or Dismiss value stays only in this site’s WordPress options; no free text or personal information is collected, and it is never sent externally. It can be cleared from Settings. ### What happens to EWWW sidecars? Stale WebP/AVIF sidecars are removed only after successful source conversion. EWWW can recreate them from the converted source, depending on your EWWW settings.
