Administrators can configure meetings, assign moderators, provide participant access, manage recordings, and verify the server connection without leaving WordPress. Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton requires access to a BigBlueButton server with its API URL and shared secret. The plugin does not include or host a BigBlueButton server. ### External services Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton communicates with the BigBlueButton server explicitly configured by the WordPress administrator. The server may be self-hosted or operated by a third-party provider. Depending on the requested operation, the plugin may transmit: * The meeting identifier, meeting name, duration, participant limits, recording preferences, welcome messages, branding options, and other meeting configuration. * A participant or moderator display name and a WordPress-derived user identifier when generating access to a meeting. * Generated meeting access passwords, creation time, and API checksums required by the BigBlueButton API. * Meeting and recording identifiers when checking status, listing recordings, or deleting a recording. The shared API Secret is not transmitted as plain text. It is used locally to generate the checksums required by the BigBlueButton API. Communication occurs when an administrator saves or tests the connection, a permitted user performs a meeting or recording action, a participant requests access, or WordPress runs the Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton Site Health test. Data handling, retention, privacy terms, and recording policies are determined by the configured BigBlueButton server and its operator. Site administrators are responsible for reviewing the terms and privacy policy of their chosen provider and informing their users as required. The administrator settings contain an optional contextual link to its website: https://bbb.cloud-a1.com/en/ ### Privacy Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton does not send telemetry to the plugin author. The plugin stores encrypted connection credentials in WordPress options. Meeting configuration and moderator assignments are stored as WordPress metadata. Recording deletion audit entries may contain the WordPress user ID and display name, meeting information, recording identifier, timestamp, result, and diagnostic code. Up to 500 deletion events are retained. Participant names and access passwords submitted through the public form are processed to generate access to the configured BigBlueButton server. They are not included in Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton diagnostic information. ### Compatibility Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton uses standard WordPress shortcodes, roles, capabilities, metadata, HTTP functions, and Site Health APIs. It is designed to work with themes, page builders, and LMS plugins that process WordPress shortcodes and preserve standard WordPress user capabilities. ### Languages Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton is translation-ready and uses the `cloud-a1- meetings-for-bigbluebutton` text domain. The source strings are in English. Community translations can be contributed and managed through the official WordPress.org translation platform. Upload the `cloud-a1-meetings-for-bigbluebutton` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the plugin through the WordPress Plugins screen. 2. Activate Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton. 3. Go to **Settings > Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton**. 4. Enter the HTTPS API URL and API Secret supplied by your BigBlueButton administrator or provider. 5. Save the connection. Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton will test the endpoint and signed credentials before storing them. 6. Go to **BBB Meetings > Add meeting** and configure a meeting. 7. Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton is a WordPress integration and does not provide the conferencing infrastructure itself. You may use a self-hosted BigBlueButton installation or a compatible third-party provider. ### What credentials are required? You need the BigBlueButton API URL and shared API Secret supplied by the server administrator or provider. ### How is the API Secret stored? The API Secret is encrypted before it is stored in the WordPress database. Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton uses libsodium and a key derived from the WordPress authentication salt. The saved secret is never displayed again. ### Can teachers or LMS instructors manage meetings? Yes. Administrators can authorize existing WordPress roles to moderate BBB meetings and assign specific users to individual meetings. Add the `[bbb_connect meeting_id="123"]` shortcode to a page or post, replacing ` 123` with the WordPress meeting ID. Each meeting can use an optional participant password. Incorrect attempts are rate limited. ### Can moderators approve participants? Yes. When moderator approval is enabled, participants remain in the BigBlueButton waiting room until a moderator admits them. ### Can I manage recordings? Yes. Administrators and assigned moderators can view available recordings, open playback formats, copy playback links, and permanently delete authorized recordings. Deletion requires confirmation and is recorded in an administrative audit history. ### Why does a finished recording not appear immediately? BigBlueButton processes recordings after a meeting ends. Availability depends on the server, recording duration, and processing queue. ### How can I diagnose connection problems? Go to **Tools > Site Health** to run the connection test. The Information tab includes a Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton section that can be copied for technical support without revealing secrets or private endpoint paths. ### Does Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton collect usage data? No. Cloud A1 Meetings for BigBlueButton does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising trackers, or automatic reporting to Cloud-A1.
