## Description

As a WooCommerce store grows, thousands of completed, cancelled, refunded, and failed
orders pile up in the primary Orders screen. That slows down order search, admin
page loads, and database queries. **Clicks Order Archiver** solves this by letting
you archive old WooCommerce orders into a dedicated, searchable archive, without
deleting anything or touching your sales reports.

Built for store managers and WooCommerce developers who need a safe, reversible
way to manage order table bloat, Clicks Order Archiver works with both legacy post-
based orders and WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS), so it fits stores
of any size or setup.

#### Why archive WooCommerce orders?

 * **Faster admin screens** – a smaller active Orders list means faster sorting,
   filtering, and searching.
 * **Better database performance** – fewer rows scanned on every order query, page
   load, and report.
 * **Cleaner day-to-day workflow** – staff only see orders that actually need attention,
not years of old completed orders.
 * **Zero data loss** – archiving is fully reversible and never changes totals,
   line items, or customer records.

#### Key Features

 * **Manual Batch Archiving** – archive orders older than a custom threshold (in
days), filtered by status: completed, cancelled, refunded, or failed.
 * **HPOS & Legacy Order Support** – fully compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance
Order Storage (`wc_orders` tables) as well as legacy post-based (`shop_order`)
   storage.
 * **Declutter the Primary Orders List** – archived orders are automatically excluded
from the default WooCommerce Orders screen.
 * **Dedicated Archived Orders Screen** – view, search, and manage every archived
order from WooCommerce > Archived Orders.
 * **Single & Bulk Restoration** – un-archive one order or restore orders in bulk,
any time you need them back in the active list.
 * **Safe Metadata-Based Archiving** – uses a harmless `_clicarch_archived` flag.
Order totals, line items, customer data, and WooCommerce sales reports are never
   modified.
 * **No External Services** – all archiving happens locally in your WordPress database.
Nothing is sent to third-party APIs or external servers.

#### Who is this for?

Clicks Order Archiver is ideal for high-volume WooCommerce stores, subscription
businesses, agencies managing client stores, and any site where the Orders screen
has become slow or difficult to navigate because of years of accumulated order history.

#### Data Safety

Archiving is non-destructive by design. Clicks Order Archiver never deletes orders,
never edits monetary totals, and never modifies customer information. It simply
flags orders as archived so they’re hidden from the default view, and instantly
restorable whenever you need them.

### External services

This plugin does not contact, send data to, or load scripts from any external services,
APIs, or third-party servers. All operations occur strictly within your WordPress
site database.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `clicks-order-archiver` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory,
or install directly from the WordPress Plugins screen by searching “Clicks Order
    Archiver”.
 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
 3. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active on your site.
 4. Go to **WooCommerce > Order Archiver** to set your archiving threshold, choose
order statuses, and run your first archiving batch.
 5. Manage archived orders anytime from **WooCommerce > Archived Orders**.

## FAQ

### Does archiving delete my WooCommerce orders?

No. Archiving never deletes orders or customer data. It adds a metadata marker (`
_clicarch_archived = 1`) that hides the order from the main Orders list while keeping
it fully accessible and restorable from WooCommerce > Archived Orders.

### Is Clicks Order Archiver compatible with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?

Yes. The plugin fully supports WooCommerce HPOS (`wc_orders` custom tables) as well
as legacy post-based (`shop_order`) order storage, so it works whether or not you’ve
migrated to HPOS.

### Can I restore archived orders back to the main Orders list?

Yes. You can un-archive (restore) any order individually, or restore many at once
using bulk actions, directly from the WooCommerce > Archived Orders screen.

### Will archiving affect my sales reports or revenue analytics?

No. WooCommerce sales reporting, revenue totals, and customer order histories remain
fully intact, since order statuses and monetary amounts are never modified by archiving.

### Which order statuses can I archive?

You can choose to archive completed, cancelled, refunded, or failed orders, based
on a custom age threshold that you set in days.

### Does this plugin send any data to external servers?

No. Clicks Order Archiver does not contact, send data to, or load scripts from any
external services, APIs, or third-party servers. All archiving happens strictly
within your own WordPress database.

### Will this slow down my site?

No. Archiving runs as a manual, on-demand batch process that you control, and it’s
designed to reduce load on your database over time by keeping the active orders
table smaller.
