This plugin puts that assistant on your WordPress site as a chat button in the corner. You make the assistant, add its files and choose its colours and greeting in ClearMakes Agents. The plugin only adds it to your site: paste the assistant’s agent ID, tick the box and save. **This plugin needs a ClearMakes Agents account.** The Free plan (one assistant, 30 conversations a month) is enough to start. Paid plans start at $12 a month. See https://agents.clearmakes.com/pricing. What you get: * A chat button on every page of your site. * Answers from the files, pages and folders you gave your assistant. * The look, greeting and suggested questions you set in ClearMakes Agents; change them there and the site follows. * Nothing is loaded until you paste an agent ID and tick the box. Honest limits: answers in the chat do not show their sources. On the Free plan the chat shows a small “Powered by ClearMakes” line. ### External services This plugin connects your site’s visitors to a service run by ClearMakes. The plugin does nothing until a site administrator pastes an agent ID and ticks the box on Settings > ClearMakes Agents. Once it is switched on, every page of the site loads one script, https://agents. clearmakes.com/agents.js, in the visitor’s browser. The script shows the chat button and talks to https://agents.clearmakes.com. What is sent, and when: * When a page loads, the visitor’s browser asks ClearMakes for the assistant’s look and greeting. This request carries the agent ID and the normal information any web request carries (the visitor’s IP address and browser type). * When a visitor opens the chat and sends a message, the message text is sent to ClearMakes to be answered. ClearMakes keeps the conversation so you can read it in your ClearMakes Agents account. * The visitor’s browser may keep the conversation in its own storage on your site for up to 24 hours, so closing and reopening the chat does not lose it. Sign in at https://agents.clearmakes.com and make an assistant (the Free plan is enough). 3. In ClearMakes Agents, open your assistant, go to Go live and copy the Agent ID. 4. In WordPress, go to Settings > ClearMakes Agents, paste the Agent ID, tick the box and save. ## FAQ ### Do I need a ClearMakes account? Yes. The assistant, its files and its look all live in your ClearMakes Agents account. The Free plan is enough to start. ### Where do I find my agent ID? In ClearMakes Agents, open your assistant and go to Go live. The Agent ID is on that page. ### Can I change how the chat looks? Yes, in ClearMakes Agents, under Style. The change shows on your site without touching the plugin. ### How do I switch it off? Untick the box on Settings > ClearMakes Agents and save, or deactivate the plugin. ### Does it work with my page builder or theme?
