Clatree is a hosted service and this plugin is its WordPress half, so it reports
to your Clatree account: your store’s address, the addresses of your cart and checkout,
the payment and delivery methods your checkout offers, the fields it asks a customer
to fill in, and the number, status and total of orders that failed or are waiting
for payment. Nothing leaves the site until a License Key is saved.

**Customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and payment details 
are never sent.** Failure reasons are stripped of anything resembling an email address,
a card number or a customer name before they leave the site.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate the plugin.
 2. Go to **Clatree** in the WordPress menu.
 3. Choose **Create an account** if you are new to Clatree, or **I already have an 
    account** if you are not. Either opens Clatree in a new tab and takes you to this
    store’s License Key.
 4. Copy the License Key, paste it into the plugin, and save.

Monitoring starts as soon as the key is accepted.

## FAQ

### What is Clatree and who is it for?

Clatree is for every store that does not want to lose customers to a broken path
to purchase: a shipping method that does not show up, a payment method that disappears,
a coupon that stops working, an order form that will not load, a place order button
that does nothing. Those are the moments that quietly kill sales, and Clatree is
built to test for them automatically, on a schedule, and report anything that is
off. That way you hear about it before your customers give up on buying. We know
most shoppers never report a problem, they just abandon the cart. Which is exactly
why the tool costs a whole lot less than the customers it saves you.

### Why is Clatree worth having?

Clatree tells you the moment it detects that the one thing that matters most in 
your store, the ability to buy, has stopped working. Say your payment or shipping
methods stop showing up. Or your coupon code does not work, or it works but discounts
nothing. Or your cart or checkout takes far too long to load. Now you finally have
control: you will know about it, you will get instructions on how to fix it, and

### Do I need a Clatree account?

Yes. The plugin is the store-side half of a hosted service and cannot monitor anything

### Will test orders show up in my sales stats?

No. A few minutes after a scan places a test order, Clatree deletes it, so it never
lands in your sales stats or your store metrics.

We always recommend that if you use third-party plugins or integrations, you check
beforehand whether leaving Test Orders enabled could cause other tools to treat 
these orders as real transactions, potentially affecting your statistics or generating
unnecessary invoices.

### Does checkout testing get in my customers’ way?

Absolutely not. Our tests are built to stay out of your customers’ way. They never
see Clatree, and it never interferes with anyone buying from you.

### Can I run a test manually?

Yes, of course. As often as you want, with no limit. Our system checks your cart
and checkout at set intervals, runs full path-to-purchase tests, and places a test
order if you switch that option on. On top of all that, you can fire off a test 
yourself from the Clatree panel any time you like.

### Do you run tests on live payment gateways?

With Clatree you have that option, but you can also choose our test payment gateway.
We recommend making the test as real as possible, because the whole point is to 
mirror the path your customer actually takes. That said, we understand your store
may only accept card payments, for instance, or some other method you would rather
not test. So we also give you option B: routing test orders through Clatree’s test
gateway. And of course, no real money is ever transferred in any case. As you can
see, Clatree is very flexible, and the choice is yours.

### Does Clatree collect my customers’ data?

**We do not collect your customers’ data, because we do not need it to deliver the
service.** At Clatree, user privacy is the top priority. That is why we keep the

### Can you set the tool up for me?

**Of course.** If you do not have the time or the patience for setup, we will do
it for you, completely free. During onboarding you can pick that option, send us
the details we need, and we will take the whole thing off your hands.

### What does my store need in order to use it?

Your store has to run on WordPress with WooCommerce, and you need the rights to 
it, as owner or authorised representative. That is it. We plan to support other 
platforms down the road, but for now the service covers stores built on WordPress
only.

### Does it slow the store down?

No. There is no code on the front end of your store, apart from one small marker
during a Clatree test run. The reporting runs once an hour on WordPress’s own scheduler.

### Clatree’s checks are being blocked by my security plugin

The Connection screen lists the addresses Clatree checks your store from once the
site has connected. Add them to the allowed list in your security plugin, your firewall
and any service such as Cloudflare.

### What happens if I deactivate or delete it?

Deactivating stops all reporting. Deleting removes everything the plugin ever stored,
including your License Key. Order notes on your own orders are left alone, because
they belong to your order history.

### Can I use it on a multisite network?

Yes. Each site in the network is treated as its own store, with its own License 
Key.
