## Description

Camorna shows you where your visitors really come from — organic search, blogs,
social, email, and every ad you run — and makes your advertising smarter by sending
high-quality conversion signals back to the ad platforms. One lightweight tag, installed
in about two minutes, no coding and no IT help needed.

It works on **any WordPress site**. Leads, sign-ups, and calls-to-action are recognized
automatically — no event mapping, no tag manager gymnastics. If you run **WooCommerce**,
it adds what browser pixels can’t: purchases confirmed **server-to-server** straight
from your store, so they’re counted even when browsers block tracking. It runs safely**
alongside** your existing pixels and Google Analytics — nothing is removed or replaced.

**What makes it different**

 * **First-party by construction.** The tag is served for your site, and the visitor
cookie is set from your own origin, so Safari’s tracking limits don’t erase your
   returning visitors as quickly.
 * **Zero configuration.** No event mapping and no per-page setup: the tag recognizes
page views, traffic sources, engagement, and lead forms on its own.
 * **Privacy built in.** Personal identifiers are hashed in the browser (and on
the server) before anything is sent; raw personal data is never transmitted.
 * **Server-side order events (WooCommerce).** Purchases are confirmed from WooCommerce
itself via order webhooks — ad-blocker-proof and Safari-proof. On sites without
WooCommerce these features simply stay dormant.
 * **Three-click install.** Install, Connect, watch your Live Events light up.

**Requires a Camorna account.** This plugin is the WordPress connector for the Camorna
service: all of its code is fully functional with no feature gating, trials, or
usage limits of any kind — but analytics processing happens in the Camorna service,
so you need an account at [app.camorna.com](https://app.camorna.com/) to connect
it to. Until connected, the plugin deliberately does nothing and sends nothing.

This is an early release (0.1.1). The one-click “Connect” flow is coming; for now
you paste your collection host from the dashboard.

### External Services

This plugin connects your site to the Camorna analytics service. Specifically:

 * The plugin loads the Camorna measurement script (`sdk.js`) on your site’s front-
end pages from your assigned collection hostname (a `*.cagmore.com` subdomain
operated by Camorna, or a custom hostname you configure).
 * The script sends analytics events (page views, traffic sources, engagement, and
hashed lead identifiers) from your visitors’ browsers to that same hostname.
 * If WooCommerce is active, the plugin registers WooCommerce webhooks that send
order events (order created/updated) from your server to your collection hostname.
 * If a visitor requests erasure via WordPress’s Tools Erase Personal Data, the
plugin forwards a deletion request (keyed by a hashed email) to the Camorna service.

No data is sent anywhere until you connect the plugin by entering your collection
host. Raw personal identifiers (email addresses, phone numbers) are hashed before
transmission and are never sent in plain form.

This service is provided by Camorna: [Terms of Service](https://camorna.com/terms),
[Privacy Policy](https://camorna.com/privacy).

## Installation

 1. **Install** — add the plugin from the WordPress directory (or upload the ZIP under
Plugins Add New) and activate it.
 2. **Connect** — in your Camorna dashboard open Settings General and copy your collection
host, then paste it into Settings Camorna in WordPress and save. (One-click “Connect
to Camorna” is coming; for now you paste the host.) We set up your tracking endpoint,
your page tag, and — on WooCommerce stores — your order webhooks.
 3. **Watch** — open the Live Events screen in your Camorna dashboard and browse your
own site; events appear within a minute. When you see events flowing, you’re done.

## FAQ

### Does it work without WooCommerce?

Yes. Camorna works on any WordPress site — company sites, lead-generation sites,
blogs. Traffic sources, engagement, and lead-form conversions are captured automatically.
WooCommerce only adds server-confirmed purchase tracking on top.

### Do I need to change my DNS or set up a server?

No. Nothing to host, no DNS changes, no servers, no CDN accounts. Tracking works
the moment the plugin is connected. There’s an optional upgrade later — serving
the tag from your own domain like `metrics.yoursite.com` — and if you want it, our
setup assistant walks you through one DNS record. It’s never required.

### Will it slow down my site?

No — it usually makes things faster if it replaces a pile of individual pixels.
The tag loads asynchronously (your page never waits for it), is smaller than a single
product-image thumbnail, and sends data in the background. You can verify with any
speed test before and after.

### Do I have to remove my existing pixels or Google Analytics?

No. Camorna runs safely alongside whatever you have today — we never touch your
existing tags. Most sites run both for a week or two, compare the numbers, and then
decide what to keep.

### Does it work on iPhones / Safari and with ad blockers?

Yes — and this is most of why the product exists. On WooCommerce stores your revenue
events don’t rely on the browser at all: orders flow directly from your store to
us via webhooks, so even a fully blocked browser can’t hide a purchase. Ad clicks
are captured the instant someone lands, and identified visitors are recognized across
visits.

### Do you share my data — or my customers’ data — with others using your platform?

No. The data collected from your site belongs to you and is used only to provide
Camorna to you. We never sell it, and we never share it with other businesses using
Camorna — each account’s data is isolated to that account. The only sharing that
ever happens is sharing you set up yourself: for example, if you connect your own
ad accounts (such as Google or Meta), Camorna sends your conversion signals — as
irreversible hashes, never raw personal data — to those accounts of yours to improve
their measurement. Disconnect them and that stops. See our [Privacy Policy](https://camorna.com/privacy)
for full details.

### How is my data secured in Camorna?

In layers, by design:

 * **Encrypted everywhere.** Data travels only over HTTPS/TLS and is encrypted at
   rest on Google Cloud infrastructure.
 * **Hashed before it ever leaves your site.** Personal identifiers (emails, phone
numbers) are irreversibly hashed in the visitor’s browser — Camorna’s servers
never receive or store the raw values, so there is nothing readable to leak.
 * **Signed server events.** Order webhooks and deletion requests sent from your
site carry a signature from a secret key unique to your site, so forged or tampered
   data can be rejected.
 * **Isolated per account.** Your data lives under your account only and is never
   mixed with other customers’ data.
 * **Minimal by design.** Keystrokes, form contents, passwords, and payment details
are never recorded, so the most sensitive data is never collected in the first
   place.
 * **Independent assurance underway.** We are actively working toward a SOC 3 attestation—
we are building and operating our controls to that standard, and the independent
audit requires a multi-month period of operating evidence before the report can
be issued. We will publish it when it completes.

And you stay in control of deletion: WordPress’s built-in eraser forwards visitor
deletion requests to Camorna, and you can request full deletion of collected data
from your dashboard or privacy@camorna.com.

### What do you NOT track?

We never record keystrokes, form contents, passwords, payment details, or screen
recordings. When a visitor types their email into a lead form or checkout, only
an irreversible fingerprint (a hash) of it leaves your site — never the email itself.

### What happens in Camorna if I deactivate or uninstall the plugin?

Tracking stops immediately: the tag is no longer served on your pages, and on WooCommerce
stores the order webhooks the plugin created are removed on deactivation. Uninstalling(
deleting) the plugin additionally erases every setting it stored in WordPress —
your collection host and connection key — so nothing is left behind on your site.

Be aware that uninstalling has real costs. Everything that happens on your site
while the plugin is gone is never captured and cannot be reconstructed, and attribution
journeys that were in flight are broken for good. Conversion sharing to your ad
platforms is forward-only: after a reinstall, events from before or during the gap
cannot be sent — or re-sent — to your ad accounts. Reinstalling starts measurement
fresh from that day.

Previously collected data remains in your Camorna account in pseudonymous form only—
random visitor ids and irreversible hashes, no raw personal data (your customers’
actual contact details were never in Camorna; those stay in your store). If you
want that history deleted too, request it from your Camorna dashboard or email privacy@
camorna.com.

### A visitor asked me to delete their data. What do I do?

Use WordPress’s built-in Tools Erase Personal Data. Camorna hooks into it and forwards
a deletion request for that person, keyed by a hashed email — no raw personal data
leaves your site.
