The plugin does not send telemetry to Brightery. The optional IndexNow module is
disabled by default and contacts the IndexNow service only after an administrator
enables it.

#### Important

Search Toolkit does not guarantee rankings, rich results, inclusion in search engines,
or inclusion/citation in AI systems. GEO/AEO checks are editorial heuristics, not
a ranking score. llms.txt is an emerging convention and support varies by crawler/
provider.

Structured data must reflect the visible, accurate content and policies of the site.
Only configure Local SEO, shipping and return-policy fields when the information
is true and applicable.

### External services

#### IndexNow

IndexNow is an optional external service used to notify participating search engines
when public URLs are added, updated, unpublished, or deleted.

The module is disabled by default. If an administrator explicitly enables it, Search
Toolkit sends public URL data to the IndexNow global endpoint at `https://api.indexnow.
org/indexnow`. The payload includes the site’s host name, IndexNow verification
key, verification key location, and the public URLs being submitted.

Service information and documentation: https://www.indexnow.org/
 Protocol documentation:
https://www.indexnow.org/documentation Terms: https://www.indexnow.org/terms Privacy
information: the IndexNow Terms page includes a Privacy section.

### Privacy

Brightery Search Optimization Toolkit does not send telemetry to Brightery. The
local 404 monitor stores only URL paths, hit counts, and last-seen timestamps. Autopilot
and Fix Center action history stores only the local content IDs and values required
to provide an Undo feature. The administrator-triggered Site Crawler requests only
public URLs on the site’s own host and stores crawl metadata and a link graph in
the local WordPress database. External links are inventoried but are not fetched
automatically. When the optional IndexNow module is enabled, the public URL information
described in the External services section is sent to IndexNow.

The plugin also adds suggested privacy-policy language to WordPress’s built-in Privacy
Policy Guide.

## FAQ

### Does the plugin track my site or visitors?

No. Search Toolkit sends no telemetry to Brightery. It makes an external request
only when the administrator explicitly enables the optional IndexNow module or manually
submits URLs through that module.

### What does IndexNow send?

When IndexNow is enabled, Search Toolkit sends the site’s public changed URLs, host
name, IndexNow verification key, and key location to the IndexNow global endpoint.
Search Toolkit does not intentionally include visitor IP addresses, cookies, form
submissions, or WordPress account data in the IndexNow payload.

### What does the SEO Fix Center change automatically?

Version 1.4 can persist missing meta descriptions by deriving a concise description
from each page’s own excerpt/content. It processes at most 25 URLs per click, stores
the exact before/after values, and provides Undo. Ambiguous changes such as inventing
image ALT text or replacing a broken-link destination remain manual.

### How does Internal Links 2.0 rank suggestions?

It uses local content only. The score considers overlap between titles, focus keywords,
taxonomy terms and a content sample. It also avoids suggesting URLs already linked
from the current content. Suggested anchor text uses the target page’s primary focus
keyword when available, otherwise its title.

### What is the difference between Site Audit and Site Crawler?

Site Audit analyzes locally stored WordPress content and settings. Site Crawler
is a separate administrator-triggered tool that makes safe HTTP requests only to
this site’s own public host, in batches of eight URLs, so it can inspect real response
codes and rendered metadata. It inventories external links but does not fetch them
automatically.

### Does the Site Crawler contact third-party websites?

No. Version 1.4 normalizes and validates crawl targets against the site’s own host.
External links found in HTML are stored locally as link inventory only and are not
requested by the crawler.

### Can redirects point to another domain?

No. Redirect targets are limited to the current site by design to reduce open-redirect
risk.

### What does the 404 monitor store?

Only the requested URL path, a hit count, and the most recent timestamp. It does
not store IP addresses, referrers or user-agent strings. Entries older than 90 days
are automatically cleaned up.

### What does SEO Autopilot change?

Autopilot is disabled by default. When enabled, administrators can choose safe automatic
behaviors: create a same-site 301 when a published slug changes, output a content-
derived meta description when a custom one is missing, and redirect attachment pages.
Automatically created slug redirects are logged and can be undone.

### How does WooCommerce Merchant SEO work?

Search Toolkit augments WooCommerce’s own Product structured data instead of replacing
it. When available, it can add product brand and GTIN fields that are not already
present. If an administrator explicitly configures a global shipping policy, Search
Toolkit can add OfferShippingDetails only where WooCommerce has not already provided
shipping details. Merchant-level return policy data is added to the Organization
entity when the configured policy is complete.

### Should I configure global shipping details if my shipping varies?

No. Leave the global shipping fields blank when shipping price or delivery time
varies by product, destination, shipping class or another rule. A dedicated shipping
integration may provide more precise data.

### Does GEO/AEO analysis guarantee AI citations?

No. It checks useful editorial signals such as a direct opening explanation, descriptive
headings, lists/tables, question coverage, entity clarity and contextual links.
These signals can make content easier to understand, but no plugin can guarantee
citation by an AI or answer system.

### Does llms.txt improve rankings?

No ranking claim is made. The endpoint is provided as a convenient machine-readable
content index for systems that choose to use the convention.
