I added the php code to my template no problem. Had it reading from “breaking news” category. I had it set to 8 posts. It ONLY ever showed the first 8 from when it was first added. When I added more posts, the ticker wouldn’t update. No longer works which is sad because this was a great plug-in! I wanted a very simple ‘ticker’ to display post titles in one place in my theme, and this fit the bill very nicely – it does exactly that. It supports filtering by category, and also supports custom post types. It’s lightweight with little overhead and doesn’t slow my page load. You can specify how many post titles to display, whether to include the date or not, and some basic background color options and border options. The built-in widget doesn’t have as many options yet (but a future version will include that) but it was very simple to generate the shortcode with all of the options I wanted, and paste that into a text widget, which accomplished the same thing. All in all I’m happy with this plugin – it does a great job!
