## Description

Baer Media Curator registers native hierarchical Media Categories and non-hierarchical
Media Tags for attachments. It adds taxonomy management screens, a Media Library
category filter, and a paginated organizer that can add or remove terms from up
to 50 selected attachments at a time.

Sites with Enhanced Media Library active can explicitly copy up to 1,000 legacy `
media_category` terms and 2,000 attachment relationships into Baer Media Categories.
This plugin never registers or owns the legacy taxonomy. Import is non-destructive:
original legacy terms and relationships are never changed or removed, and repeating
the import reuses matching destination terms. Slug collisions with a different name
or parent stop the migration for explicit resolution.

Version 0.1.0 does not provide virtual folders, automatic classification, duplicate
deletion, unused-media deletion, or background rules. The plugin does not contact
external services or collect telemetry.

### Safety and warranty

Bulk operations and legacy migration change attachment taxonomy relationships and
add terms. The plugin is provided without warranty to the extent permitted by applicable
law. You are responsible for a verified database backup, selecting the correct attachments
and terms, reviewing migration results, and testing integrations that consume attachment
taxonomies. Nothing in this notice excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

## Installation

 1. Install and activate the plugin.
 2. Create categories and tags under Media > Media Categories and Media > Media Tags.
 3. Open Media > Media Curator, select up to 50 attachments, choose add or remove,
enter comma-separated term names, and confirm the backup notice.
 4. Use the category dropdown in the Media Library list view to filter attachments.
 5. To migrate legacy `media_category` terms, keep Enhanced Media Library active, verify
a database backup, and use the explicit copy action. Review the copied categories
    and attachment assignments afterward.

## FAQ

### Are these real WordPress taxonomies?

Yes. Categories and tags use native WordPress term and relationship tables and are
exposed through the REST API for attachment-aware integrations.

### Does uninstall delete my organization?

No. Taxonomy terms and attachment relationships remain in the database because they
are site content. Only the migration status record is removed.

### Does legacy import remove Enhanced Media Library data?

No. It copies category names, slugs, hierarchy, and attachment relationships into
the Baer taxonomy. It never deletes or alters the originals.

Enhanced Media Library must remain active during the copy so it can register and
provide its own legacy taxonomy. Baer Media Curator does not register that third-
party taxonomy.

### Can the plugin delete unused media or duplicates?

No. Version 0.1.0 intentionally avoids destructive file operations.
