What data does the plugin send to AutoBoostSEO?

On activation and on upgrade, the plugin sends a one-time, non-blocking ping to https://www.autoboostseo.com/api/install-ping containing: a random install ID generated locally on activation, your site URL, the plugin version, WordPress version, PHP version, locale, and whether the site is multisite. No post content, no admin email, no personally identifiable information is included. This helps us measure how many installs of the WordPress.org plugin lead to active accounts so we can prioritise improvements. No further pings are sent at runtime.

What data is exchanged when I click Connect?

When you click Connect your site, the plugin opens https://www.autoboostseo.com/connect with your install ID and your site URL in the URL. You sign in with Google. AutoBoostSEO then posts a signed pairing token back to your WordPress site, which the plugin stores in wp_options (the raw token is hashed before storage; your AutoBoostSEO email and user ID are stored in plain text so the plugin can show you who the site is paired with). At the same time, the plugin generates a WordPress Application Password scoped to your primary administrator account (named “AutoBoostSEO Connector”) and relays it to AutoBoostSEO so the SaaS can call your site’s REST API without further configuration. AutoBoostSEO stores this credential in your account settings document on Firestore. A paired_sites record is also created containing your install ID, site URL, AutoBoostSEO user ID and email, paired timestamp, and token hash. You can disconnect at any time from either the plugin’s admin page or the AutoBoostSEO dashboard; the Application Password remains visible (and revocable) in your WordPress profile under Users Profile Application Passwords.
