Each customer receives a private review link by email, writes a review for each product they bought, and can add photos or a video. You moderate the reviews in wp-admin and show the approved ones on your product pages. Reviews are stored as native WooCommerce product reviews, so your product ratings, the verified owner flag and the rating structured data keep working as before. #### Review requests * Send a review request email a set number of days after an order is completed. * Send one gentle reminder when the customer has not answered yet. * Exclude products or categories, and choose the reply-to address. * Send a request manually for any eligible order. * Each request carries a private link that expires; the customer does not need to log in. #### The review form * A star rating and a text review for each product in the order. * Up to five photos or one video per review, with explicit publication consent. * Optional public review links and QR codes for reviews outside an order, which always wait for your approval. #### Moderation * Choose the publishing policy: approve every review yourself, or auto-publish verified reviews with four or five stars, or all verified reviews. * Approve, reject, archive, feature and reply to reviews from one inbox, one by one or in bulk. * Move a review to the right product, hide the Verified buyer badge or mark a review as incentivized, with an audit trail. * Import your existing WooCommerce reviews. * Get an email when a new review arrives. #### On your store * A product reviews widget on product pages, with review photos and videos, replacing the native Reviews tab if you want. * A star rating badge next to the product title, or anywhere with a shortcode. * An optional “Powered by Visual Reviews” credit, off by default. #### Visual Reviews Pro Visual Reviews Pro adds a grid layout, widget colors and a trust header, a review gallery and a product reviews shortcode, photos on public review links, and a coupon reward for approved photo and video reviews. Free and Pro are complete plugins that share the same data: switching between them keeps your reviews and settings. #### Languages English and Spanish are included. #### Source code The uncompiled source of the scripts in `assets/build/` ships with the plugin in` assets/src/`, with the `package.json`, `package-lock.json` and `webpack.free.config. js` that build them. To build them again, run `npm ci` and `npm run build` in the plugin folder with Node.js 24 and npm 11. ### External services This plugin can connect to the OpenAI API, an AI text service, to draft a reply to a customer review when a store manager asks for one. The connection is optional and off until you add your own OpenAI API key. * What it is used for: in the review moderation screen, the Suggest a reply button asks the OpenAI API for a draft reply to the review you are reading. Only you see the draft, and nothing is published until you edit it and save it as your reply. * When data is sent: only when a store manager clicks Suggest a reply, and only after you add your OpenAI API key to `wp-config.php` with the `ATELIER_PRODUCT_REVIEWS_OPENAI_API_KEY` constant. Without the key, the button sends nothing. * What data is sent: the review text, its star rating and the name of the reviewed product, with your API key, to `https://api.openai.com/v1/responses`. Like every request WordPress makes, it also carries your site address in its user agent. No customer name, email address, order or photo is sent. The plugin makes no other request to an external service and sends no telemetry. Review emails go through your store’s own WordPress mail. ## Installation 1. Install the plugin through Plugins > Add New, or upload the plugin folder to `/ wp-content/plugins/atelier-visual-reviews-for-woocommerce`. 2. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active. 3. Activate Visual Reviews. 4. Open Visual Reviews > Settings, choose the publishing policy and the review request timing, and use Send test email to check your email delivery. 5. Open Visual Reviews > Widgets to set up the product reviews widget. ## FAQ ### Does it need an account or a license key? No. Visual Reviews works without an account, a key or any connection to Plugins Atelier. ### When is the review request sent? When an order reaches Completed, Visual Reviews schedules the email after the delay you set in Settings, seven days by default. The order needs a valid billing email and at least one product that can be reviewed. ### Which photo and video files can customers upload? Up to five JPG, PNG or WebP photos of up to 5 MB each, or one MP4 or MOV video of up to 50 MB and 30 seconds. Videos are stored in your Media Library as uploaded, without transcoding. ### Where are the reviews stored? In your store, as WooCommerce product reviews, with their photos and videos in the Media Library. Nothing is stored outside your site. ### How do I remove all the plugin data when I delete it? Deleting the plugin keeps its data by default. To remove it, add `define( 'ATELIER_PRODUCT_REVIEWS_DELETE_DATA_ON_UNINSTALL', true );` to `wp-config.php` before deleting the plugin from Plugins. Deleting then removes the Visual Reviews tables, settings and review metadata; the reviews stay as WooCommerce product reviews, and the photos and videos stay in the Media Library. While the other edition of Visual Reviews is still installed, deleting this one keeps the data, because the other edition uses it. ### Does it work with HPOS? Yes.
