## Description

Amitry Job Board turns your WordPress site into a careers page. You write job openings
in the block editor, and the plugin shows them in a clean list or card layout with
search and filters, adds structured data for Google for Jobs and collects applications
in the WordPress admin.

It is built for small and medium-sized companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland:
salary ranges have their own fields, applications are deleted automatically after
a retention period you choose, and the plugin makes no external requests.

#### Features

 * Jobs as their own post type, written in the block editor with a ready-made structure(
   tasks, profile, benefits)
 * Job details in the editor sidebar: employment type, work model (on-site, hybrid,
   remote), location, salary range, working hours, start date and closing date
 * Careers page block with search, filters for location, department and employment
   type, and a list or card layout
 * Shortcodes for classic themes and page builders, plus an optional widget for
   Elementor
 * Structured data (JobPosting) for Google for Jobs, generated from the job details
 * Jobs close automatically after their closing date and lose their structured data
 * Application form with CV upload, consent checkbox and a confirmation email
 * Application management in the admin: status, notes, protected CV download
 * Automatic deletion of applications after a retention period, connected to the
   WordPress personal data export and erasure tools
 * Setup wizard with a live preview: company details, application method, design,
   careers page and privacy settings
 * Accent color, corner style and layout adapt to your site, theme fonts are used
   by default
 * Works with page caches: forms fetch a fresh security token, result pages stay
   uncached, and cached job pages are cleared after changes
 * Labels, focus styles and screen reader texts throughout, checked with automated
   tests against WCAG 2.2 level AA

#### Privacy

Applications are stored in your WordPress database. CV files are stored in a protected
folder inside your uploads directory and can be downloaded by users with the permission
to manage applications. The plugin does not send data to external services and does
not use cookies or tracking.

Applications and CV files are deleted when you delete the plugin. Jobs and settings
are kept unless you enable “Delete all data on uninstall”.

## FAQ

### Does it work with my theme?

The careers page and job pages use your theme’s fonts and spacing. Block themes
and classic themes are supported.

### How do my jobs get into Google for Jobs?

Every published job contains JobPosting structured data. Google reads it when it
crawls your site. You can test a job with Google’s Rich Results Test.

### What happens when a job’s closing date has passed?

The job is closed automatically. It disappears from the careers page and its structured
data is removed, so search engines stop showing it.

### Where are CV files stored?

In a protected folder inside your uploads directory, with a random folder name and
random file names. Downloads go through WordPress and require the permission to
manage applications. On Apache, LiteSpeed and IIS the plugin adds server rules that
block direct access to the folder.

### My server runs nginx. What do I need to do?

nginx ignores .htaccess files. Ask your host to add this rule to the server configuration,
so files in the folder can never be opened directly:

    ```
    location ~* /wp-content/uploads/(sites/[0-9]+/)?amjobs-private- { deny all; }
    ```

### Which shortcodes are available?

[amjobs_jobs] shows the job list. Optional attributes: `layout` (list or cards),`
filters`, `search`, `sort`, `count` and `open_application` (show or hide), `limit`(
number of jobs, 0 for all), `department` and `location` (slugs, separated by commas)
and `title`.

    ```
    [amjobs_apply_form] shows an application form. Optional attributes: `job` (ID of a job, without it the form is an open application) and `intro` (yes or no).
    ```

### Does the application form work without JavaScript?

Yes. With JavaScript the form is sent without reloading the page. Without it, the
form is sent normally and the page shows the result.

### Is the plugin available in German?

Every text in the plugin can be translated. Translations are managed on translate.
wordpress.org, and WordPress downloads and updates them for your site language on
its own. German translations for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in the formal
and the informal form of address, are contributed there.

### Does it work with caching plugins?

Yes. Before a form is sent, it fetches a fresh security token, so pages from a page
cache keep working. The page that shows the result of a form without JavaScript
is never cached. When you publish, change or close a job, and once a day, the plugin
clears cached job pages in LiteSpeed Cache, WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, WP Super
Cache, Cache Enabler and WP Fastest Cache. For other caches, developers can use
the `amjobs_purge_page_cache` action, which passes the addresses to clear.

### Can developers extend the plugin?

Yes. All hooks start with `amjobs_`. Examples: `amjobs_application_received` fires
after an application was stored, `amjobs_job_posting_schema` filters the structured
data of a job, `amjobs_notification_email` and `amjobs_confirmation_email` filter
the emails, and `amjobs_settings_schema` adds settings.

### Who can see applications?

Administrators, and every user with the capability `amjobs_manage_applications`.
Editors and authors can write jobs but cannot open applications. A role editor plugin
can give the capability to other roles.

### What is deleted when I delete the plugin?

Applications and CV files are always deleted. Jobs, departments, locations and settings
stay in the database unless you enable “Delete all data on uninstall” in the settings.
