Big legal practice tools like Clio and Smokeball start around $49 per user per month and are often more than a solo practitioner needs. This plugin brings the essentials into WordPress, where your data stays on your own site, your own server and your own database. #### Free features (nothing essential is locked) * Clients: add, edit, delete and search clients (individuals or companies). * Cases (Matters): organize work by case, with a unique case number, type and status. * Case legal details: opposing party, opposing counsel, court, docket/file number and statute of limitations date. * Case numbering: default format AIT-2026-0001 with a configurable prefix. * Time tracking: log hours worked against a case, with an hourly rate and a billable flag. * Live timer: start a timer against a case, then stop to save the entry or discard it. * Deadlines: per-case deadlines with legal types (filing, hearing, trial, statute of limitations, contract, appeal, discovery, meeting, other) and an upcoming- deadlines dashboard. * Invoices: build an invoice from billable time entries, add manual line items and disbursements, apply a tax rate, record the amount paid and see the balance due, then print or save it as a PDF. * Private documents: attach confidential files to a case. Files are stored outside the public media library and are never publicly accessible. * Activity log: an automatic, readable record of who changed what and when. * CSV export: export clients, cases, time entries, deadlines and invoices to CSV. * Privacy & Compliance screen: a data-management disclaimer, a processing note in English, German and Arabic, a DPA/AVV template, and client data-subject tools( export a client’s data as JSON, or anonymise a client’s personal data while keeping the audit trail). * Translations: fully internationalized and translation-ready. A POT template is included; community translations are served through translate.wordpress.org. * Data ownership: all data is stored in your own WordPress database. No external APIs, no paid services, no data sent elsewhere. #### Who it is for * Solo lawyers and attorneys. * Small law offices with a very small team. * Any practice that wants simple case, time and billing management inside WordPress. #### Built for a global market Designed for solo lawyers worldwide, with Germany, the USA and the Arabic market in mind first. Anything jurisdiction-specific (tax/VAT, date and currency formats) is optional and configurable, never hard-wired. ### Privacy This plugin does not create public client profiles, shortcodes, public REST endpoints or public post types. Client and case data remains in custom database tables and is accessed only through the protected WordPress Admin interface. Users should still use HTTPS, strong passwords, appropriate roles, regular backups and a privacy policy appropriate to their jurisdiction. #### Third-party services This plugin does not use any third-party service, API, SDK or tracking script. It makes no external HTTP requests and sends no data to any remote server. The only outbound links are ordinary hyperlinks shown on the plugin’s own Settings screen and admin footer (the author’s site and an optional PayPal donation link). ### Legal notice This plugin is a data management tool only. In WordPress Admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. 2. Upload the plugin ZIP file. 3. Install and activate the plugin. 4. Open the new “Law Office” menu in WordPress Admin. 5. Add your first client, then add a case. ## FAQ ### Where is my data stored? In your own WordPress database, in tables prefixed with your site’s table prefix followed by ait_lmgmt_. ### Are attached documents public? No. Case attachments are stored in a protected folder outside the media library and can only be downloaded by users with the plugin capability, through a nonce- checked request. ### Can I change the case number prefix? Yes. Go to Law Office > Settings and set a prefix of up to five letters or digits. Case numbers use the format PREFIX-YEAR-0001. ### Does it work with any currency? Yes. Set the currency code and symbol in Settings.
