## Description

**Aivor Content Import brings the articles that [Aivor](https://aivor.ai/) writes
for you into WordPress.** Aivor is an AI writing service run and hosted in Germany.
It analyses your website, plans topic clusters around your keywords, researches
every article with sources and writes it. This plugin is the bridge: it imports
the finished articles as drafts, complete with featured image, category, tags and
meta description, and keeps the links between the articles of a cluster up to date.

The plugin itself generates no text. Aivor takes care of research, writing and planning;
you review each draft and publish it with one click.

#### How it works

 1. **Connect Aivor.** Create a free Aivor account and paste your API key into the
    plugin.
 2. **Plan your topics in Aivor.** Add your website, let Aivor analyse it and confirm
a topic cluster: one comprehensive pillar article and related articles, delivered
    in a rhythm you choose.
 3. **Connect the cluster.** Copy the cluster’s import job ID into a content job in
WordPress and choose the post type, category and author. New drafts then arrive
on their own, once an hour.

#### What the plugin does

 * Imports articles with title, excerpt, tags, category, featured image and meta
   description, ready to publish.
 * Saves them as drafts (recommended) or submits them for review, so your editorial
   workflow stays the same.
 * Builds and updates an overview of all cluster articles inside the pillar article.
 * Adds internal links between related articles as soon as both are published, and
never touches a sentence that was edited in the meantime.
 * Refreshes existing articles: an extended version arrives as a revision of the
article, you compare it in the WordPress revisions screen and apply it with one
click. Title, address and featured image stay the same.
 * Writes the meta description into Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress
or The SEO Framework, or outputs it itself when no SEO plugin is active.
 * Marks every imported article as AI-generated in its structured data and can show
a short visible notice below it.
 * Limits how many new articles arrive per week, so your website grows steadily
   instead of in bursts.
 * Keeps an import log that shows exactly what happened and why.

#### What is free and what costs credits

The plugin is free and has no locked features. The work is done by Aivor and paid
with Aivor credits:

 * A topic plan costs 5 credits, each cluster article 10 credits, and a generated
featured image 5 credits more. Example: a cluster of 12 articles with featured
   images costs 5 + 12 × 15 = 185 credits.
 * The first three website analyses per month are free.
 * A new Aivor account starts with 25 credits: 15 one-time starter credits and 10
free credits per month on the free plan.
 * Paid plans start at 9.95 € per month for 400 credits. Current prices: [aivor.ai/pricing](https://aivor.ai/pricing/).

Fetching articles, reporting them back and updating links never costs credits.

#### Your control

 * **You publish.** Every article arrives as a draft or pending review. Nothing
   goes online without you.
 * **Weekly limit.** By default at most 7 new articles per 7 days for the whole
   website.
 * **Honest marking.** Articles are marked as AI-generated in their structured data.
You can also show a visible notice below every article from Aivor.
 * **No promises about rankings.** Aivor writes and links articles carefully, but
no tool can promise rankings or visitors. Search engines reward helpful content,
   however it was written.

#### Requirements

 * An Aivor account (free to start).
 * HTTPS on your website. Without it, articles are still imported, but Aivor cannot
learn their addresses and the internal linking does not work.
 * WordPress scheduled tasks (WP-Cron). On websites with few visitors, a server
cron job is recommended; the settings page explains how.

#### Trademark

Aivor and the Aivor logo are trademarks of Darkwood.Design. The logo file included
in this plugin is distributed under the plugin’s license; this does not grant any
trademark rights.

### External services

This plugin connects to the Aivor service (Darkwood.Design, Germany; see the [legal notice](https://aivor.ai/legal-notice/)).
It is needed to receive the articles Aivor writes for you. Nothing is sent before
you enter an API key and set up a content job.

**Aivor API (api.aivor.ai).** Once an hour, and when you click “Fetch articles now”
or “Check connection” in the settings, the plugin sends HTTPS requests to `https://
api.aivor.ai/api/v1/`. It sends:

 * your API key and the import job IDs of your content jobs,
 * for articles that came from Aivor: their public address, post ID, the text as
stored in WordPress and its hash, so that Aivor can link related articles,
 * which of these articles currently exist as unpublished drafts, so that Aivor
   knows they arrived,
 * the plugin version and the fact that the request comes from WordPress.

It receives the next finished article, link updates and the status of your content
jobs. No data about visitors of your website is sent.

**Featured images.** Featured images are downloaded from the image addresses Aivor
provides with each article, usually on Aivor’s own servers.

Aivor is hosted in Germany. To write articles, Aivor uses AI providers, some of
them based in the USA, under the safeguards described in its privacy policy.

## Installation

 1. Install the plugin from the WordPress plugin directory and activate it.
 2. Open **Aivor® Content Import**, follow the “Getting started” steps and paste your
Aivor API key. The plugin checks the connection right away.
 3. In Aivor, add your website under Content, confirm a topic cluster and copy its
    import job ID.
 4. Switch to the **Content jobs** tab, add a content job with that ID and choose whether
articles arrive as drafts or pending review.

You can also define the key as a constant in `wp-config.php`: `define( 'AIVOR_API_KEY','
your-key' );`

## FAQ

### Do I need an Aivor account?

Yes. The articles are researched and written by Aivor; the plugin imports them into
WordPress. A free account is enough to start.

### Who decides what goes online?

You do. Every article arrives as a draft or, if you prefer, pending review. You
read it, adjust it if you like and publish it with one click.

### Why do the other articles of a cluster wait?

The related articles link to the pillar article, so Aivor waits until the pillar
article is public. Publish it, and the cluster continues. Aivor learns about it
within the next hour.

### Are AI-generated articles marked?

Yes. Every imported article carries `digitalSourceType` with the IPTC value for
AI-generated content in its structured data; with an SEO plugin, the plugin adds
it to that plugin’s existing markup. In addition, a visible notice can appear below
every article from Aivor. Whether your website needs a visible notice depends on
your situation. The plugin gives you the tools, not legal advice.

### What does Google think of AI content?

Google’s guidance says that helpful content is what counts, regardless of how it
was produced, and that mass-produced pages without added value are treated as spam.
That is why every article arrives as a draft, why a weekly limit applies by default,
and why Aivor works in topic clusters instead of single keywords. Read and improve
the drafts before you publish them.

### Where is my data processed?

Aivor’s servers and database are hosted in Germany. Aivor uses AI providers to write
the articles, some of them based in the USA; its privacy policy lists them and the
safeguards in place. The plugin itself does not collect data about your visitors.

### Which SEO plugins are supported?

Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO Framework. If none is
active, the plugin outputs the meta description itself and hands it over when you
activate an SEO plugin later.

### Does it work with the block editor?

Yes. Articles arrive as HTML and open in a Classic block that you can edit as usual.
The pillar article contains two invisible markers for the cluster overview. If you
convert the article to blocks, the markers disappear and the overview is no longer
updated. Nothing else changes.

### What happens if I edit an imported article?

That is expected. The plugin reports the new text to Aivor, and planned link updates
are checked against it. A link is only added if its sentence still exists exactly
once; otherwise nothing is changed.

### What happens when Aivor extends an existing article?

The extended version is saved as a revision of the existing article, so nothing
changes on your website yet. The article shows a notice with a link to the WordPress
revisions screen, where you compare both versions and restore the new one with one
click. Title, address, featured image and categories stay the same. If you hide
the notice, the revision simply stays in the article’s history. On websites with
revisions switched off, the extended version arrives as a separate draft instead.
The plugin never changes the text of a live article on its own, apart from the internal
links and the cluster overview described above.

### Why does the plugin stop fetching new articles?

Most likely the weekly limit is reached: by default at most 7 new articles per 7
days for the whole website. A cluster with a daily rhythm uses it up on its own.
The import log says so and names the date from which new articles arrive again;
Aivor keeps them ready in the meantime. You can raise the limit under **Aivor®
Content Import Settings**.

### Nothing arrives. What can I check?

Open **Aivor® Content Import** and click “Check connection”. Then look at the **
Import log** tab: it lists every import, report and error. The most common cause
is a website without visitors, where WordPress does not run its scheduled tasks.

### Does it work on multisite?

Yes, per site: every site has its own API key, content jobs and schedule.
