## Description

A lightweight Arabic (RTL) plugin by [adawat.org](https://adawat.org/). It adds
four ready-made widgets through simple shortcodes that work in the block editor (
inside a Shortcode block), the classic editor and text widgets:

 * `[adawat_hijri_date]` — today’s Hijri date in the **Umm al-Qura** calendar, computed
   locally on your server from the full Umm al-Qura month table (1300–1600 AH) in
   your site’s timezone — **no external requests, no JavaScript**. Add `gregorian
   ="yes"` to also show the matching Gregorian date.
 * `[adawat_prayer_times city="riyadh"]` — today’s prayer times for any of 188 cities,
   with a live next-prayer countdown. Times are computed astronomically in the visitor’s
   browser through the adawat.org widget — no API keys, no accounts. Options: `method`(
   mkk, egy, mwl, …), `asr` (1 standard, 2 Hanafi) and `theme`.
 * `[adawat_ramadan_countdown]` — days and hours left until Ramadan; `event="fitr
   |adha|arafah|hijri"` covers Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Arafah day and the Hijri
   new year.
 * `[adawat_zakat]` — a mini zakat calculator (2.5% with the gold nisab); `gold`
   sets the gold gram price and `cur` the currency label.

From **Settings أدوات** you choose the default city and theme (auto / light / dark)
for all widgets at once, and `theme="light|dark"` on any shortcode overrides it.

Every widget renders a small “مدعوم من أدوات” credit line linking to the matching
adawat.org tool page; you can switch it off on the settings page.

#### Privacy

 * `[adawat_hijri_date]` runs entirely on your server and never contacts any external
   service.
 * The other shortcodes embed an iframe from adawat.org; the visitor’s browser loads
   the widget from there like any normal iframe (the visitor’s IP reaches adawat.
   org as a standard web request). The widgets use no accounts and no ad tracking,
   and prayer times are computed inside the visitor’s own browser.

## Installation

 1. In your dashboard go to **Plugins Add New**, search for “Adawat Tools”, or upload
    the ZIP from **Upload Plugin**.
 2. Activate the plugin.
 3. Open **Settings أدوات** and pick the default city and theme.
 4. Put any shortcode in a post, a page or a text widget, for example: `[adawat_prayer_times
    city="makkah" theme="dark"]`.

## FAQ

### Where do city slugs like riyadh and makkah come from?

They are the same identifiers used by the city pages on adawat.org: the URL `https://
adawat.org/prayer-times-riyadh.html` means the slug is `riyadh`. The full list of
all 188 cities is in the dropdown on **Settings أدوات**, and you can also pass
the Arabic name directly, for example `city="جدة"`.

### Does the Hijri date need an internet connection?

No. `[adawat_hijri_date]` is computed in PHP on your own server from the bundled
Umm al-Qura month table (1300–1600 AH / 1882–2174 CE) — the same Umm al-Qura data
that ICU ships and that adawat.org itself uses.

### Does the conversion match the official Umm al-Qura calendar?

Yes, within the range of the table (1300–1600 AH). The conversion was tested automatically
against the `islamic-umalqura` calendar in ICU over thousands of random dates and
matched every one of them day for day.

### Which prayer time calculation methods are supported?

Through the `method` attribute: Umm al-Qura `mkk`, Egyptian General Authority `egy`,
Muslim World League `mwl`, Karachi `kar`, Jordan `jo`, ISNA `isna`, Dubai and the
Gulf `dub`, Kuwait `kw`, Qatar `qa`, Morocco `ma`, South East Asia `sea`, France`
fr`. If you do not set one, the official method of the city’s country is used automatically.
For the Hanafi Asr add `asr="2"`.

### Can the “مدعوم من أدوات” credit line be hidden?

Yes. Turn the option off on **Settings أدوات**, or do it in code with the `adawat_tools_show_credit`
filter.

### Does it work on non-Arabic (LTR) sites?

Yes. The widgets are self-contained RTL iframes and the Hijri date is plain text,
so they render correctly on any site regardless of the theme’s language or direction.
