The free plugin is fully functional on its own and nothing in it expires. ### External services 007AJ SMTP Mailer connects only to the outgoing mail (SMTP) server that you enter in its settings, and only when WordPress sends an email or you send a test. It sends that server your SMTP username and password (to log in) and each email’s sender, recipients, subject, body, headers and attachments, which is necessary to deliver the email. The plugin never contacts 007AJ and sends no usage data. Upgrade links are ordinary links that open only when you click them. ### Privacy The plugin stores your settings, your encrypted SMTP password and a list of the last 20 errors (date, mailer, recipient, subject and error text). It stores no email bodies and sets no cookies. ## Installation 1. Install from Plugins > Add New (search “007AJ SMTP Mailer”), or upload the zip, then activate. 2. Follow the setup wizard, or go to 007AJ SMTP Mailer > Settings. 3. Send a test from 007AJ SMTP Mailer > Test Email. ## FAQ ### Why do I need an app password? Gmail, Fastmail, Yahoo, iCloud and Outlook.com do not accept your normal password for SMTP when extra security is on. Create an app password in your email account and paste it into 007AJ SMTP Mailer. ### Can I keep my password out of the database? Yes. Define AJSM_SMTP_PASS (and the other AJSM_* constants) in wp-config.php. See 007AJ SMTP Mailer > Documentation. ### Does it work with WooCommerce and form plugins? Yes. 007AJ SMTP Mailer handles every email sent with the standard wp_mail() function. ### Does the free plugin contain locked features? No. Paid features live in the separate 007AJ SMTP Mailer Pro plugin.
