Nice and simple. Still working perfectly.
I've edited line 24 of the plugin code to add " ORDER BY display_name ASC":
$authors = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT ID from $wpdb->users ORDER BY display_name ASC;") ;
Now the widget lists by name rather than ID for a better listing experience!
