wp_config.php & NEW wp_config_live.php

  1. djripraw

The desired end result. WordPress tries to pull wp_config.php ... if it doesn't exist it looks for wp_config_live.php

Why? wp_config.php can be used to run the local copy, wp_config_live.php runs the live copy. When the user uploads their website they can upload wp_config_live.php, miss out wp_config.php and the website is ready to go

You don't need to have two files. Since wp-config.php is a PHP file, you can use normal if/then statements. So IF the domain is localhost, call X lines. If not, call Y. :) I do that for work.
