Worpress.org Site Demo

    I refer many new commers to the Internet to the worpdress.org site, but there is no demo for either the admin or frontend of a blog on there and many of my clients leave none the wiser...

    Can we not add a dummy site / demo to the worpress.org site front end for newcommers so they can see what a worpress blog looks like?

    Won't this get horribly spammed?

    @robertsharp, not if its locked down to just show an example. I think a static dummy site example would be useful for those checking it out, might greatly increase uptake.

    I guess that its obvious they should have one, and locking it would be a very easy way to keep spammers away..

    They should have one. I agree. Until then use http://demo.opensourcecms.com/wordpress/.

    For the WordPress demo at opensourcecms.com (see link in previous comment), Use
    u = admin
    p = demo

    the main blog here serves as a demo. for the frontend.

    users could also be linked to wordpress.com to setup a blog to "test run" the software - or use opensourcecms.com or a similar service.
