    You can accomplish this in your theme by creating a custom callback function for wp_list_comments in the functions.php file, and adding the following code inside the comments loop where you would like it to show:

    <?php if ($comment->comment_approved == '0') : ?>
    <p class="moderation">Your comment is awaiting moderation.</p>
    <?php endif; ?>

    It would be nice if this was included as part of wp_list_comments by default.

    kpdesign is correct, it would be nice to have this included in the core.

    kpdesign, i understand you that to show after comment is added, but i say about warning user about that before he/she sends comment.

    @qdinar: Simply add a block of text in your comment form just above the Submit button that says that comments are held for moderation. You can do that in the comments.php file in your theme.
