Use links ID internally, not URLS

It would be very interesting if WordPress is like Drupal in the use of internal links, that is, to refer to the ID of the post and not using the URL.

In this way, when updating which URL, the change would be automatic.

    Hi Como se escribe,

You say "Use link ID instead of URL" Yes, It's good idea. It's helpful when we want to change or add same links in a post.

But alternatively there are already one Plugin call "Interlink". It's helpful for autolink same anchors in one or more posts. BTW User Links ID instead of URL is good Idea. :)

    Hi Simran!

I know that plugin, but it is not the same (although it is good for its usefulness!). I believe that this recommendation could come in the "core" of WordPress and help maintain the integrity of the website :)

    cheers!

  4. Como, I have a mixed opinion on this. While it is a nice way to counter the problem of broken links when a post URL is changed, it will have its own complications.

If a user is using custom permalinks, then using the page/post ID for each interlink will cause unwanted 301 redirects from post ID to the actual permalink of the page/post. Adding unwanted redirects is a bad practice IMO.

Another thing here is that editing the URL is itself a bad practice as it results in a broken page which must have already got indexed and will have some backlinks spread across the web.

The only way to counter this will be to redirect the old post URL to the new post URL. In such a case, the broken internal link will solve itself automatically.

What is your say on these?
