Upgrade: Deactivate All Plugins
I've been using wordpress only for 2 months now, but have upgraded my installation twice: From 2.0 to 2.06 and then to 2.07..
All the time I faced one very tiresome problem - Deactivating each plugin individually. There have been many discussions about this on the forum and it is high time that someone add this little but time saving functionaliy to WP.
I'll be honest and say that it's not strictly necessary to deactivate before upgrading.
Doing a batch de-activate isn't something I'd consider to be a good idea. Nevertheless, it shouldn't be amazingly hard to do.
But, a better thing would be to internally update WordPress, which deactivates any current plugins and then activates them one by one after a successful upgrade. This links to other topics.
I'm Totally with you Dan,
However some fix for the plug-in management is necessary.
Good on ya vzx to bring this one up !
I made a plugin that will disable all plugins... :-)
Easy to implement, and not such a bad idea.
It would also be nice to re-activate all plugins.
Hi, the above plugin will deactivate all plugins, and then reactivate them again.
Hope it helps :)
Now when you go to Tools > Upgrade, you can deactivate all plugins at once before upgrading.
