Unable to set "Publish on" back to "Immediately" in WP3.0

I know this topic has been dealt with, but not as I wish it would have...

The person was using an external software, which is not my case.

I've been using WP 3.0 since it came out and I find it pretty annoying that once you set a date/time for future publishing, you cannot revert back to "Immediately".

Clicking on "Cancel" does NOT work. Of course, you can always set a past date/time to KIND OF fix this, but this really is not what I call "user-friendly". I've had issues with a post that wouldn't publish even if I set a date/time in the past!

So would it be possible to add such a feature? (or at least enable the "Cancel" link to actually CANCEL the publish date/time that was previously set?

    Thank you very much!
