Stop allowing Plugins that Contain Ads, Spam, Ect..

I don't agree with many popular plugins being able to contain ads, banners, 3rd party banner ads, donation buttons ect in every wordpress admin.

Matt, had themes removed that contained 3rd party links. But now it's being allowed by plugin developers... Plugins that are being developed by some pretty well known people!...

A link to the publisher is one thing, all these ads and junk is an entirely different story.

This should be done for Security Reasons if anything!

No spam at all is permitted. If a plugin is spamming your WP site, front or back end, report it to plugins AT WordPress.org and we'll review and remove it.

That said, we do permit links for donations, or twitter/Facebook/etc on the plugin's dashboard page. We don't permit ads there, but a link back to their site is okay. Again, report them if you see them. Provide a link to the plugin page (like http://Wordpress.org/extend/plugins/Akismet ) so we know exactly which plugin you mean.

Note: All plugin submissions are reviewed to make sure they don't spam. We don't review every single check in of code.
