Save Active Plugins as Configurations
In the WordPress plugins panel, it would be a nice option to be able to save all of the active plugins as a configuration. If something were to go wrong (or someone accidentally deactivated all plugins), the configuration could be restored with just a few clicks.
Ideally multiple configurations could be saved for later use. This would be useful for the regular blogger as a backup. For plugin testers and theme testers, a configuration could be created based on a particular testing environment.
Good and usefull idea. But I whant extend it.
If there is an option 'Deactivate all plugins', why there isn't option 'Activate all plugins'?
Say, I have 5 blogs and know, that all my plugins are working fine with new WordPress version. Why I need to activate all my plugins one by one?
We need option to activate all plugins in one click!
Activate all plugins is part of the plugin management page.
As for Ronalds idea, I think it still has merit. Maybe if WordPress ever creates a built in backup tool, plugin configuration data will be part of that backup.
Ultimate though, the plugin configuration data will be held in the database.
It's a good idea, but is plugin territory. If it gained wide adoption then maybe it could be considered for core.
