Re-work the WP-extend Plugin search function

The majority of the time I can't find the plugin I'm looking for using the plug-in search. Even though I know it's there, it doesn't appear. Try it yourself... search for "admin management extended" or "embedit" or others. Most times, it doesn't matter what I'm searching for the same results come up... always with the list of most popular plugins which have nothing to do with what I'm searching for! So, I'm always having to jump back into Google and doing my search there. What is the point of having a plugin search which does not function properly?

I also find this very frustrating. You can type in the actual name of the plugin, yet the results of the search never seem to change.

As a plugin developer it is also frustrating as it makes it a lot less likely that people will find my plugins.

There have been improvements to search in the past year, with more to come.
