Put post/page thumbnail settings inline into post_title

Basically, rather than showing a large version of the thumbnail in the right-hand column of the edit form, put a reduced version in the left of the title box, with a blank space/placeholder image for posts without a thumbnail.

Since post thumbnails are only relevant if your theme supports them, it wouldn't make sense to redesign the editor this way. That's why the post thumbnail is in a metabox on that screen.

  3. Jane, I believe he's just trying to give a different way of doing things. I like it when people find other perfectly good ways to do stuff. It just shows me there are still people out there with a good head on there shoulders, and are willing to make something that is already a good thing, even better. Thanks randomblast.
