Prompt for Title when no title given, admins can choose to make title compulsor

If a user forgets to put a title on their post wordpress just lets them carry on and post with no title, this messes up RSS feed and all kinds of stuff.

I think administrators should be able to make a title compulsory where users would be prompted to add a title before they can publish there posts

Dammit, I was hoping this would have been implemented in 2.1 but have just downloaded it and alas no.

I disagree. I use my blog as a journal, and as a journal I do not give titles to my entries. The "title" of each entry is thus the published date.

It would be wiser if WP automatically uses the date if no title is used. That would solve the RSS feeds problems.

I think, in general, WordPress should have more optional prompts for users when they forget certain common tasks, such as entering a title or selecting a category (see this request for "prompt for category".)

I'd like to see an options for missing titles on the site configuration page, such as:
    -Ignore missing Titles (default)
-Automatically Create Title based on Date
    -Prompt for Title

I believe that WP should add the following options to the posting/writing options.

If no title when submitting a post then:
    - promote me to add one
    - make title the first X number of characters from the post content
    - use post date/time (with options to set the format of what is entered)

That seems to be the most flexible, in my opinion.
