Plugin specific categories - Types

As long as there's no shared codebase or dependencies (as was the case with Otto's SFC), splitting up functionality into several smaller plugins seems like an all-around clever thing to do -- no single point of failure and all that jazz. WordPress should accommodate this design decision. What if plugins could come with their own 'Type' tags?
Looking at WordPress' API, with all its hooks and primary functions, it shouldn't be that hard to determine what core pieces of functionality there are. Pick out the most prevalent terms, and there's your most common types of core functionality in WordPress extended by plugins.
So if there was such a thing as Types, all you'd have to do for your collection of comments-centric plugins would be to tag each one of them with 'Comments', and WordPress admins wouldn't easily lose sight of their plethora of plugins installed to add tid-bits of extra functionality. Just go Plugins->Types->Comments and presto!
are u trying to say that suppose if we tag a post and then we already have some plugins with tages.
so wordpress whould match the tags and use only the plugins that matches tags.
that would be very useful, but most of the webmasters use plugins as a whole, only i think hardly 1% would like to use plugins like that.
how ever wordpress can release an advance version for that
or are u trying to say that categorise the plugins while searching and installing as in this topic
this is a good idea, it will make a lot easier to handle plugin for specific post types
I was notified of a comment to this idea, yet it's not showing up. Stuck in moderator's queue I guess? Just a heads up...
It's possible. You don't need to post to tell us, though. I go through the queue a couple times a day to clean it out.
some plugins may more than one tag, so how should wordpress decide the particular category based on tags if it have more than one
The plugin "Ultimate SEO" do this or I am wrong?
