Option to exclude Pages from Navigation

Wouldn't it be great to have an option when editing/publishing a page to select wether the Page should be viewable in wp_list_pages or not?
Same could be realized with categories.
I'm a WordPress Theme author, and we allways have to add these options manually.

    Cheers,

This is taken care of by the new menu interface in WP3.0.

If this option was already in the editing area of the page, it would be great and very practical. And besides, to have this option in the area of quick editing of the page.

How is this different from private pages?

With regards to pre-WP 3.0, private pages can be hidden (for non-login users) and shown (for login users) respectively, with a little 'core' hack as discussed in: http://pixopoint.com/forum/index.php?topic=561.0

Sadly, WP 3.0 doesn't seem to cater for private pages :(

If you just want to hide pages from the navigation in your theme without using the custom menu system introduced in 3.0, you should use a plugin like Exclude Pages: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exclude-pages/
